One small idea :

Once you're done, keep the current maps as a "challenge campaign"
Then redo all of them with more coal as a "casual fun campaign"

Right now there is absolutely NO room for mistakes, every single coal has to be calculated, which kinda killed the fun of trying to get resources ASAP to attack the enemy.

@Minidude

I took a quick look at your total play hours, you did complete the vanilla campaign first right?
This campaign is meant to be a follow up in difficulty.

- What mission are you stuck on?
- You know you can convert electricity into coal with a workshop right?

If i would make an easier version, i'm almost sure people would just go for that one instead of taking on the challenge.

I've played the CD version. I bought this game on steam like a year ago.
I've beaten the campaign several time (4-5 times, probably more with the CD version).

I'm not complaining that i'm stuck at all (Which i'm not), i was suggesting that it could be interesting to have a more "laid back" version of the challenges, hence the post in "Suggestion".

About people taking on that easy one instead of the challenge, well it is their choices. Even if people play the challenge or not, it is all their choice (It even is their choices to play the tellurian unofficial campaign, you see ;) )

Oh and PLEASE! add more "grizzly bears" and "belugas" in the maps. Spent ~15-20 minutes trying to find them each. (Also beluga didn't register, i hadn't it in the 1st campaign of velika)

About elecricity conversion. Well at that point just remove the coal from the maps and it wouldn't matter. I have no use of it, all i can do to beat up the oponenent is create low-electricity cost creatures and convert it all into coal :/

Maybe making a more "laid back" version would not be such a bad idea after all.
That way there might not be any need for nerfing the missions in this version.

Maybe if people finish the "laid back" version they might consider playing it over but a little more challenging.

Not sure about the grizzly bear and beluga though, seems to be fine with other people.

I'm pretty sure you either didn't shoot the beluga because of reloading a save, or that's a one time thing.😕

I mean, kind of. Having actual coal production will always be more useful than relying on conversion.

I've reached valika 4th so far. I've been really bored as hell in the volcano map - i had no more coal, a lot of creatures tho. But since you need to have some kind of creature production (or flyers) to attack the enemies, i had to wait until my electricity filled up, converted it all, then wait until it goes back up to create my creature.

In the mean time the enemy was sending waves of 2-3 flyers every ~5-10 minutes, it was hella boring (went to eat to let my electricity cap up lol :) )

How is rushing "having to cheat"?

I mean like, currently the only way to play the campaign with Tellurian animals (aside from making it yourself) is to play this brutally difficult one. xd

So, yeah.

Although, to be honest, I've been thinking of slapping all of the II+Bonus+Tel animals in the campaign and putting that in the mod. Then maybe slowly start changing stuff over time.

Not meant to be a replacement for this, of course.

Mission 9 - contains a lot of spoilers !

Make the time between each assault longer - or each assault smaller

I had 2 walls of bramble fence making the access to the lab impossible for melees non-swimmer, 3 soundbeam towers (one got destroyed by the flyers coming in at 8 minutes ) and barely could survive a wave. Then BAM ! the next one is already at my door.

Ideas :

- Have less creatures coming in right at start so we can start building a defense faster and more safely (henchmen/lucy is under attack !) or make slower creatures.
- Give more electricity to start with - I had no choice but to have all henchmens build a bramble fence wall if i was to survive, meaning I couldn't build lightning rods
- Remove the barrier destroy of the first wave - i mean bramble fences and soundbeam towers are just pretty useless against those.
- give a solid 3 minutes (maybe more !) between each waves. Wait until ~15 minutes before actually sending in level 4 (flyers) that just obliterate anti-air towers in 4-5 hits , there's like no way to be even level 2 and have creatures by then (rex is overwhelm at 4 creatures, 8 flyers is overkill) .
- I know players can "Convert" their electricity, but a geyser would not be luxury right now in the base...
- Maybe have more melees and less ranged early on (wave 2 with like 10 ranged is overkill at 4-5 minutes) - making it easier to defend against them (bramble fences)
- Use way weaker creatures early on, and exponentially increase the difficulty - so the player can have an actual start to maybe have more odds of surviving.

Bonus Mission Idea

Mission 16 - Destroy all evidence

What is it
Lucy and rex wanted to destroy all evidence of the sigma technology, but they were in some mission speaking about the "primal creature chamber" (the one that came with the meteor crashing). This mission would be a fight against a non-human enemy : the primal creature chamber (Just use some lab or w/e that looks high-tech for it).

What can it do
  1. Well similar to the mission with the antidote (14 is it ?) the primal creature chamber could take control of some random creatures when they get in a certain radius, every once in a while.
  2. The primal creature chamber would also void all bonuses of rex (Except for the neural shot thing and captures) since it is the source of all his power.
  3. The primal creature chamber itself can create only level 5 creatures (the henchmen "working" for it could still build creature chambers and send level 1-5 creatures normally). It spawns a random level 5 creature every minute or so, starting at 5 minutes, or the first time the player attacks a structure owned by it and sends it to try and kill the player.

the mission
  • Destroy all evidence of the primal creature chambers and kill any witness of its existence.
  • Player vs 3 enemies - The primal creature Chamber and two regular "henchmen-driven" bases (like valika mission 8) called witnesses

The map
A crater on a huge island. Could look similar to the volcano map (black stuff around the middle, grass - savana on the edges, high-tech middle in the black crater)

More ideas according to the idea
It could also be a 3-4 missions suite where the main villain is the primal creature chamber that "mind controlled" people that came too close of it and now they want to keep the power of it for themselves.

And afterward they could find out that Julius was under contract by the American Government who sent in a black ops squad, so Rex and Lucy end up needing to fall back to another island and defending themselves from attacks similar to what all your opponents have had to do until you excape via a boat into the sunset, having destroyed your enemy's main base (a ship of some description). Or you could steal their ship, I suppose.

I've tryed this out since recently i got ic on steam now and the total mission 2 part i think is haxy... first u got those damn bear/owl flyers... and then u got the abuseing stink clouders its like even if u go porcupine and needle the blasted birds down the skunk creatures mess with them with stink cloud and then u got the constant strikes from the ai of swarming masses of creatures on that lv i went both porcupine/mountain lion and porcupine/wolf.... and then went for wolf/lions..... and no matter how much i try i can't seem to destroy that creature chamber that seems to be makeing creatures pop out constantly... and the lack of coal on that mission i think sucks i remeber the orginal ic didn't have flyers at that part... so why now?

@Danlillis2005
This is another case of the current difficulty being set way too high.
I'll decrease the difficulty in the next update.
Sorry for that, i hope you'll give it another shot once the next update is here.😶

If the enemy is spamming Stink Cloud, massing ranged units probably isn't the greatest idea.

I can't beat the first level :(

Are you making level 1 creatures?
