Once you're done, keep the current maps as a "challenge campaign"
Then redo all of them with more coal as a "casual fun campaign"
Right now there is absolutely NO room for mistakes, every single coal has to be calculated, which kinda killed the fun of trying to get resources ASAP to attack the enemy.
I took a quick look at your total play hours, you did complete the vanilla campaign first right?
This campaign is meant to be a follow up in difficulty.
- What mission are you stuck on?
- You know you can convert electricity into coal with a workshop right?
If i would make an easier version, i'm almost sure people would just go for that one instead of taking on the challenge.
I've played the CD version. I bought this game on steam like a year ago.
I've beaten the campaign several time (4-5 times, probably more with the CD version).
I'm not complaining that i'm stuck at all (Which i'm not), i was suggesting that it could be interesting to have a more "laid back" version of the challenges, hence the post in "Suggestion".
About people taking on that easy one instead of the challenge, well it is their choices. Even if people play the challenge or not, it is all their choice (It even is their choices to play the tellurian unofficial campaign, you see ;) )
Oh and PLEASE! add more "grizzly bears" and "belugas" in the maps. Spent ~15-20 minutes trying to find them each. (Also beluga didn't register, i hadn't it in the 1st campaign of velika)
About elecricity conversion. Well at that point just remove the coal from the maps and it wouldn't matter. I have no use of it, all i can do to beat up the oponenent is create low-electricity cost creatures and convert it all into coal :/
Maybe making a more "laid back" version would not be such a bad idea after all.
That way there might not be any need for nerfing the missions in this version.
Maybe if people finish the "laid back" version they might consider playing it over but a little more challenging.
Not sure about the grizzly bear and beluga though, seems to be fine with other people.
I'm pretty sure you either didn't shoot the beluga because of reloading a save, or that's a one time thing.😕
I mean, kind of. Having actual coal production will always be more useful than relying on conversion.
I've reached valika 4th so far. I've been really bored as hell in the volcano map - i had no more coal, a lot of creatures tho. But since you need to have some kind of creature production (or flyers) to attack the enemies, i had to wait until my electricity filled up, converted it all, then wait until it goes back up to create my creature.
In the mean time the enemy was sending waves of 2-3 flyers every ~5-10 minutes, it was hella boring (went to eat to let my electricity cap up lol :) )
I mean like, currently the only way to play the campaign with Tellurian animals (aside from making it yourself) is to play this brutally difficult one. xd
So, yeah.
Although, to be honest, I've been thinking of slapping all of the II+Bonus+Tel animals in the campaign and putting that in the mod. Then maybe slowly start changing stuff over time.
Not meant to be a replacement for this, of course.
Make the time between each assault longer - or each assault smaller
I had 2 walls of bramble fence making the access to the lab impossible for melees non-swimmer, 3 soundbeam towers (one got destroyed by the flyers coming in at 8 minutes ) and barely could survive a wave. Then BAM ! the next one is already at my door.
Ideas :
- Have less creatures coming in right at start so we can start building a defense faster and more safely (henchmen/lucy is under attack !) or make slower creatures.
- Give more electricity to start with - I had no choice but to have all henchmens build a bramble fence wall if i was to survive, meaning I couldn't build lightning rods
- Remove the barrier destroy of the first wave - i mean bramble fences and soundbeam towers are just pretty useless against those.
- give a solid 3 minutes (maybe more !) between each waves. Wait until ~15 minutes before actually sending in level 4 (flyers) that just obliterate anti-air towers in 4-5 hits , there's like no way to be even level 2 and have creatures by then (rex is overwhelm at 4 creatures, 8 flyers is overkill) .
- I know players can "Convert" their electricity, but a geyser would not be luxury right now in the base...
- Maybe have more melees and less ranged early on (wave 2 with like 10 ranged is overkill at 4-5 minutes) - making it easier to defend against them (bramble fences)
- Use way weaker creatures early on, and exponentially increase the difficulty - so the player can have an actual start to maybe have more odds of surviving.
Mission 16 - Destroy all evidence
This is another case of the current difficulty being set way too high.
I'll decrease the difficulty in the next update.
Sorry for that, i hope you'll give it another shot once the next update is here.😶
