Update List
While this mod has great potential, it lacks in attention to several key points. Firstly, the Akivir are not in any way related to Asian culture; as for why there is Asian symbolism and alphabet in this mod, I don't know. Secondly, the textures are not immersive, they stick out as plain and dull - simply do some retexturing. Finally, add more to the mod, it's very straight-forward currently. Perhaps instead of becoming the owner, you are placed into the Akivir military and are sent on numerous tasks. Bringing some Akivir lore into this mod would also bring it to life more.

As I stated, this mod is very good and deserves to be updated.
What other updates should be made?

Ohhh yes they are! The Tang-Mo and Ka Po' Tun (two of the five akaviri races) both integrate elements of Chinese and Indian cultural beliefs.

The Tang-Mo (monkey-people) are reminiscent of some of the Chinese personifications of monkeys, such as Sun Wukong, the Monkey King (especially given the fact that the Tang-Mo have been established to be brave to the point of severe recklessness, and Sun Wukong was fearless and unwise). The Ka Po' Tun combine the two cultures more apparently, as they have been described to be similar to tigers, and the Bengal tigers of India are the iconic orange-with-black-stripes tiger we all recognize from movies, tv shows, etc, and their emperor is a tiger-dragon. The idea of the "Dragon-Emperor" originated in ancient dynastic China, where dragons were considered (usually not gods themselves), but sort of "celestial beings" close to the gods. Through many of the dynasties of China, it was believed that the emperors were descendants of the dragons (or occasionally the gods, like the pharaohs of ancient egypt) and this gave them the Mandate of Heaven, or the divine right to rule. So the idea of a tiger-turned-dragon-emperor is very chinese, especially given that the tiger is one of the cinese zodiac animals.

And don't think I've forgotten about the Snow-Demons of Kamal or the Tsaesci.

While the other three races incorporate Chinese/Hindu mythology, the only comparison I could really draw for the Kamal (unfortunately, next to no information on these has surfaced in any of the games) was the Yuki-Onna of ancient Japan. These Yuki-Onna (translation: snow-woman/women) would appear solely in winter, (like how the Kamal thaw once a year to wage war) and would blow cold air onto travelers to kill thm, or lead them astray and let them die of exposure. Sometimes they appeared as a corpse holding a living child, and when some kind-hearted traveler tried to rescue the child, said traveler would die. So there's that. And with the Taesci we're back to Hinduism, and the parallel there is the Naga. The Naga, or Nagini if female, are a race of serpent-people. While popular culture paints them as half-snake half-human, they usually are described in Hindu texts more as having human traits sometimes, and snake traits at other times. (So more like shape-shifters.) The Naga are generally held in a negative connotation, as most serpent-like things are. See the similarities? Oh, and the first 1000 Naga enslaved their half-brother and his mother, much like how the Tsaesci try to enslave everything else on akavir, and once invaded tamriel, along with the now-extinct men of Akavir.

The men themselves are also reminiscent of feudal Japan, as we see in Oblivion and Skyrim, from the arms and armor they left behind, meaning the Blade's armor, and the Katanas and Dai-Katanas of Oblivion. While there are varying theories on why there are no humans on Akavir, as well as the conflicting descriptions of the Tsaesci, (some paint them as human/snake hybrids, while others say totally human) I have my own theory, which is that they, like the Naga of Hindi myth, are shapeshifters. Human when they need to be, and Snake-people when they choose to be. This theory makes vastly more sense to me than anything I've read so far, as it incorporates most of the information we've been given on them plausibly, as well as working with the "real-life" parallels that can be drawn as the source of inspiration for this mysterious race.

But that's a little off topic. The point is, Akavir and it's people draw heavily from Asian cultures, and so the architecture and characters make perfect sense in this mod. Sorry if I came off as a jerk by the way, I'm really fascinated by the topic of Akavir, and real-world ancient culture in general is sort of my thing. Also I don't get out much haha :D

Yes, I see your point. The lore department at Bethesda surely got some of the cultural ideas from several Asian cultures. Adding in the symbols would make since, however, it would not be lore friendly - seeming how the symbols don't exist in Tamriel.

I would still love to see some retexturing done though, perhaps more Akaviri lore?

Uh....Just because we have not yet seen them in an Elder Scrolls game does not mean the symbols don't exist in Tamriel/Akavir. Just that nobody has seen them and come back to tell about it. :P

That's why I can not stand the LORISTS, they are stuck on the LORE without leaving room for the imagination! The AKAVIROIS Armor is Japanese Samurai style, like all weapons. What also annoys me is that the Lorists amalgamate between TSAESCIS and HUMAIN AKAVIROI! The Akavirois humans do not look like the Snake-Man Tsaesci, who I believe was magically manipulating the Akavirois Humans to make cannon fodder. Excuse me, but the AKAVIROIS HUMANS are still alive unless those who participated in the war in Skyrim, men and women are all sterile I do not see how the Akavirois humans would not have survived, desertions he certainly when the human Akavirois clearly saw that they were defeated.

Moreover who tell you that there were no Akavirois refugees in Tamriel, several centuries ago? Why do we often quote Akavir but that there are no Akaviroise ruins in Skyrim apart from Skyhaven? Moreover, the Blades were partly created by Akavirois Humans right? Again, unless the Akavirois are sterile I do not see how they would disappear overnight. For my part, I think that Betesda did not realize that the lack of information for Akavir, and especially for humans Akavirois create as much controversy between Loristes and Rôlistes.

I will defend the cause Akavirois Humans until Betesda enlighten us on this subject! If they do it a day ...

And thank you for your work.
