Loading screen freeze
I experienced a problem when i tried to re-conquer planets i previously retreated from.

This does not seem to be associated with any specific planet but rather with retreating. When i attempt to retake the same planet I retreated from earlier, the loading screen freezes (the begin button on the loading screen does not appear). From there i have to restart the game and load a previous savegame.
The problem however persisted for all the planets I retreated from and the laoding screen froze when I tried to re-conquer those planets. This happened for land and space maps.
I tried to delete the autosave before attempting to retake a planet i previously retreated from, which sometimes solved the problem but not allways.
To avoid the loading freeze i used autoresolve to re-conquer planets i was forced to retreat from. When i was attacked on that planet again there was no loading freeze unless i retreated and tried to retake the planet later on.

Is it possible that this problem is caused by the autosave file?

If I recall correctly, this issue is caused by the various GC events and scripted missions. This bug is also much more apparent when playing as the Rebels, probably because they've got way more missions and stuff.
I haven't encountered this issue once in my Empire GC - which is going on for quite some time now.

Before that I played as the Rebels and had to abandon my GC, because I suffered from the same loading screen freeze.

Cheers

Its true i mostly play rebels. I also use multiple savegames so i dont have to use autosave. Also the autoresolve option is still working for me. Its a bit costly because you can loose a lot of units that way but I still manged to win GC.

Hello!

Try turning off V-Sync in the Options, for some reason that causes those freezes in the loading screen.
No idea how thats connected, but it definitely helped me :]
