I was going to ask something like this too, does this take away from any graphics or anything?

From what i can tell no graphics dont look degraded at all

It does in fact increase FPS on most PC's. However, it must be added on the servers you play on, it sometimes may not work on your PC depending on your settings and configuration.

im simply going to use it on my friends only sandbox servers i always make.. what type of settings and configurations mess this mod up?

As far as I can tell, the addon does not mess with any convars/console commands that effect the game's graphics.

Some launch settings could by chance counteract this as I've heard but mostly I meant hardware configurations :P. If you are using a pretty stable PC then this will run like a charm

im using a toshiba CORE i3 laptop.. thats.. like the opisite to a "pretty stable PC" hence why im getting this mod.

I think a good question to ask is: What might this change about the game visually? I mean all of these commands are there for a reason, and I wouldn't want to mess up anything or make things not show properly.

I don't actually know exactly what all of these do. Some of them have help text in console, most do not. I did my best since no one else knows how to even answer the question.

"gmod_mcore_test 1" - Uses multi-core rendering mode. No visual changes.
"r_queued_ropes 1" - Uses a queued rope rendering system. I don't know specifics, but no visual changes.
"cl_threaded_bone_setup 1" - Enable parallel processing of bones. No visual changes.
"cl_threaded_client_leaf_system 1" - Enable parallel processing of visleaves? No visual changes.
"mat_queue_mode -1" - The queue/thread mode the material system should use. Default. No visual changes.
"r_threaded_renderables 1" - I can't guess, probably parallel processing of renderable objects. No visual changes.
"r_threaded_particles 1" - Also can't guess. Probably parallel processing of particles.
"M9KGasEffect 0" - Disables the gas effect on M9K guns. It makes my heart sad that this will actually help most people.

Does this remove the lag when having a lot of props on a server? Cause that's the only fps problem i get...

You shouldn’t be getting lag from a high number of props. The only ways you get lag from props is if there’s like ten million props on the map, or if they’re all touching and grinding on the world or each other.

Im creative, a bit too much, i like to make detailed things and make huge stuff that require ALOT of props, welds, ropes and all that good stuff. I don't publish these things anywhere cause, why would I. Also theres a lot of awesome things on the workshop under "dupes" category and those awesome creations are massively detailed and its just a pain in the arse having to deal with constant lag. Im sure it's not because my computer is ♥♥♥♥, it's not. The game isn't optimized very well and that's the problem. I was asking if this mod helps optimize the game a bit and allow people to spawn a lot of props without having to deal with 15 fps.
SweptThr.one Oct 20, 2017 @ 7:26am
The lag is either due to physics collisions or shadows of props. This addon won’t fix either. The only thing that will is turning your shadows down/off.

Type +showbudget in console and find out what the biggest bar is. I’m going to guess it’s either Physics or Shadow Rendering.

Also for the love of god Bayne, try reading what people are asking instead of just plugging in random information.

nope it makes game look nice
No visual changes whatsoever. It simply enables some background stuff to spread the workload to multiple cores i think.

Personally speaking, it does nothing to graphics, but i still found it to optimize the game.
