Why Jakku Isn't In The Mod Yet
Okay, so I'm currently working on Yag'Dhul (at the time of this post) but, I thought I'd address why Jakku is a very unlikely candidate for the mod.

"The Galaxy Awaits" is set in a controlled bubble of Legends/Canon where the first Death Star WAS destroyed but, Tarkin lived and Yavin wasn't invaded by the Empire post-Death Star destruction (yet).

While Jedha is a possibility, for suspension of disbelieve, if we were to add it, it won't be a crater like it was in Rogue One. The same goes for Scarif. One plus side of this would be that subscribers of the mod will be able to send Kyle Katarn to do the job of an entire squad ;D

Hosnian Prime is already on the table as a potential new planet for the mod since we know where it is in the galaxy. It will be taking Duro's place on the Corellian Trade Spine and Duro will be moved closer to Corellia.

HOWEVER, Jakku is a different story completely.
The Battle of Jakku is set at the very end of the Galactic Civil War.
So even if we were to include it, there wouldn't be the valley of crashed Executors and SDs like there was in Battlefront and Force Awakens.

Jakku would just be a "middle of nowhere" planet with lots of sand dunes.

One possible work around for this would be if we were to create a second campaign with all of the planets this mod currently has but, have it set in the final months of the Galactic Civil.

For example...
For the Empire
  • Palpatine wouldn't be available
  • Tarkin wouldn't be available
  • Piett wouldn't be available
  • Veers...might be? He didn't die so...
  • Vader wouldn't be available
  • Boba Fett wouldn't be available
The Empire would however get 2 or 4 Executors and Thrawn to make up for the lack of heroes.
The Rebels would get pretty much everyone except Yoda and Obi-Wan.
Essentially, Thrawn's Revenge mod lite except grounded in Canon more than Legends.

As much fun as I would have making Jakku, I wouldn't be able to look past the continuity error of post-Galactic Civil War Jakku being present in the mod. Maybe years down the line but, not in the near future.

What about Vardos?
I really...REALLY want to make Vardos but, it doesn't have a confirmed coordinate on the Galactic Map yet :c
HOWEVER...I could guess that it could be placed near Duro or Corellia because...

In Battlefront II, Resurrection, you can see Starkiller's laser hitting the Hosnian system from the ground on Vardos.

So...Vardos might come to the mod in the near future.
In fact, I might even put working on Yag'Dhul on hold to work on Vardos c;

That's the reason why I wanted a reskin of the DS2 to DS1 and just add Alderaan back, it would be the exact same, except with those two minor differences (imagine if you redid alderaan), and bam, no continuity errors

I mean... I guess... but I already used the old Alderaan map for Bakura because it actually made sense ^^'

I see, I still hope my suggestion will be considered though. I'm hoping that at some point we'll get different GC "scenarios", like 3 different GC maps for different time periods following canon, one before the battle of yavin, one before endor and one after endor, all with correct planet owners

We'll think about it.
We swapped out the DS2 model with the DS1 model because it didn't make sense to have it perpetually under construction.

If a post Return of the Jedi campaign were made would certain heroes from new cannon material be used for heroes? For example, Inferno Squad or Admiral Versio from Battlefront 2 (2017).

Well...we don't exactly have models for those characters yet.
If we do include Admiral Versio, he'll probably just have the same "unable to accept defeat or retreat as a viable option" as his condition for...obvious reasons lol

Well...we don't exactly have models for those characters yet.
If we do include Admiral Versio, he'll probably just have the same "unable to accept defeat or retreat as a viable option" as his condition for...obvious reasons lol

He could just be a reskin for Tarkin, all you'd need is an icon. Same for many others, for space units, you'd just need to put normal TIE fighters into a squad and buff them for inferno squad, and for ground, put a few stormtroopers in a squad and colour them black. Add voices and icons and voilá

That's what I meant by giving Tarkin's ability to the Admiral.
If we do Inferno, they'll probably get their own dedicated unit instead of making them an escort.
Having read the Inferno Squad book, they'll probably get the Raid ability where they can bypass space stations for land battles like Han can. It's just a matter of programming it.
And making the textures.
