Are people really scared of the ambience noises in the background?

I get that you can get scared from Cafe Baltic, but the noises in the background like the chainsaw (it's probably a car) or the police sirens aren't really creepy in any way for me.

I've never heard of people being actually scared by them, but I have heard that some people find the HL2 noises (Like the combine sirens) unsettling when combined with the general loneliness of singleplayer gmod.
