Patch notes - 10/20/2013
Time for a massive update. A couple things haven't made it in yet like the Remote controlled Manhack while we test it out. Should be public in the coming days. Other than that the change log is accurate.

WARNING: YOU MUST GET THE SOUND FILES FROM EITHER THE SERVER YOU'RE PLAYING ON OR FROM THE SVN VERSION. OGG VORBIS FILES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN WORKSHOP ADDONS CURRENTLY SO DO NOT SAY THAT I DIDN'T WARN YOU WHEN SOUNDS AREN'T PLAYING.

Update log in chronological order:
  • Scoreboard now has proper scrolling.
  • Voice chat is now positional if the two players are near each other.
  • Added a hint for getting back up if a person is feigning death.
  • Fixed the Electro Hammer not being able to be crafted.
  • Fixed undo not triggering phasing mode on some people's machines.
  • Fixed headcrabs being drawn on the ceiling if they burrowed underground on top of the room you're in.
  • Fixed feigning death sometimes letting you still walk around or jump. Usually happened after being forced to respawn or being leg/torso gibbed.
  • Fixed breakable brushes becoming red if a human hits them and does no damage (usually due to damage filters).

  • Added translations. If a translation is available for your language, the game will automatically use that language. The language is determined by whatever you have gmod using (that flag icon on the main menu).
  • Added Dutch translation.
  • Added Portuguese translation.
  • Increased the Worth cost of the Plank from 5 to 10. It seemed silly that it was half as much as the knife.
  • If you don't have a default boss zombie class chosen then the game will choose Nightmare for you.
  • When removing a nail, the server will now also log the class, model, and number of nails remaining in a prop. It will also log the score of the nail placer and the score of the remover.
  • Fixed some weapons like the Lamp, Sawhack, etc. having the "real" view models appearing.

  • Shade can now pickup and throw things a bit faster.
  • Shade movement speed increased slightly.
  • Improved some Shade animations and fixed a tiny portion of its feet still rendering.
  • Most zombies now have different animations when crouching or swimming.
  • Added Italian translation.
  • Added Russian translation.
  • Added Korean translation.
  • Added German translation.
  • Added Danish translation.
  • Added Spanish translation. That makes ZS available in 9 languages!
  • Fixed issue where your language would revert to English on map change. zs_language convar which fed off gmod_language has been removed. A local variable reads off gmod_language every second now.
  • Fixed issue where swapping from certain melee weapons would make certain guns have weird bone scale manipulations.
  • Fixed not being able to switch weapons while using Film Mode.

  • Added an option to the F4 menu to always display the health of nails without having to hold the shift button down.
  • Message beacons can now be placed on walls.
  • Added French translation.
  • Updated Korean translation.
  • Fixed being able to place message beacons near other message beacons.
  • Fixed an exploit which allowed people to use the Worth menu, purchase refunds, and check out even if the map specified 0 starting worth.
  • Fixed the Boomstick having no spread.

  • Added actual crouching animations to zombies.
  • Players can now hear everybody in the server on voice chat when the round is over.
  • You can now press RELOAD to spawn non-dynamically as a zombie.
  • Fixed exploit which allowed people to nail props while being inside of them.
  • Fixed taunting making it so you couldn't press any keys while dead.
  • Fixed zombies sometimes not having their player color or weapon color set.
  • Fixed the backstab damage multiplier not working for the knife.
  • Fixed burrowed headcrabs being drawn on the ceiling of the floor under them.
  • Fixed the game placing zombie gasses close enough to human spawns for people that spawn there to be damaged.
  • Fixed allowing people to use the random loadout button on maps that restricted your worth.
  • Fixed errors due to being able to use certain brush entities in crafting recipes.
  • Fixed view models being visible while holding things.
  • Fixed logic_classunlock entity not working sometimes.

  • All decals have been disabled. Temporary work around for client crashing.
  • Weapons are now hidden if the owner is being drawn as a shadow man from being in your translucency radius (no more guns in your face).
  • Added brain chunks to the headshot effect.
  • Added Stone weapon for 5 Worth. You can throw it once and it does a decent amount of damage. Shatters when it hits something.
  • Added the 'Hunter' Rifle for 70 Points. Slow reload but high damage.
  • Added new boss zombie: The Butcher.
  • Message beacons are no longer solid.
  • Turrets will lose their target if they haven't damaged their target in the last 1/2 second.
  • Zombies killed by turret will no longer revive if not shot in the head.
  • Zombies gain health slightly slower while reviving.
  • The last shot of the Eraser pistol now deals x3 damage. The other shots remain the same damage as before.
  • All weapons are now using the unified view models with colored hands.
  • All melee weapons have been remade to no longer use 3rd party models.
  • Crafting a weapon will now add that weapon to your inventory immediately. If you have the weapon already it will use the old behavior of placing it on the ground.
  • Silencer damage has been increased from 19.5 to 22.
  • Slight updates to the visuals of the game state HUD (top left).
  • Fixed turrets shooting above players that are zombie legs.
  • Fixed dismemberment not working properly on the normal zombie model head.
  • Fixed the Eraser not having a 3D ammo display.
  • Fixed crafting weapons not working.
  • Fixed hands disappearing when the round is restarted.

  • Resupply Boxes now display their info on both sides of their model.
  • Slight visual effect added to 3D ammo display.
  • Tosser and Crackler accuracy has been swapped.
  • Crackler clip size has been increased from 20 to 22.
  • Rearranged the order for the "Tools" category in the Worth menu. The hammer has been moved near the bottom while things such as the med kit and resupply box have been moved to the top.
  • Separated the "Other" category in the worth menu in to "Other" and "Traits". All character buffs have been moved to the new category.
  • Zombie Escape view models now use the proper gmod models.
  • Players can no longer team kill by using long chains of explosive barrels.
  • Humans cannot use phasing in Zombie Escape (no reason to be able to).
  • Fixed players spawning as boss zombies inheriting some inappropriate models (Pukepus as giant legs).
  • Fixed font for 3D ammo being huge.

  • Added worth item: Manhack. Allows the human to deploy a manhack. Press left click with the controller to take control of the manhack. Damages zombies that come in contact with it. Health is displayed in 3D on top of it. Will take damage if it crashes in to things too hard (besides zombies). The light on the front of it is is controlled by your player color. Can be repaired with the wrench and pressing USE on it (as the owner) will pack it up.
  • Added Mechanic's Wrench to worth. Allows you to repair deployables such as turrets, lamps, and Aegis boards. Items cannot be repaired if they were damaged in the last 3 seconds.
  • Added Oxygen Tank to worth and also in the world. Grants a significant amount of extra breathing time while underwater. Players with it in their inventory will display it on their backs (unless they're holding). Holding it and having it in your inventory both produce the same benefits.
  • Objects that humans are holding will now rotate back in place if something applies force to make them turn. Pressing SHIFT will now lock the angles to whatever angles the prop held when pressing the SHIFT button. This should make it much easier to position props the way you want even with people interrupting you.
  • Completely remade the death notice area. It is a bit more aesthetically pleasing and has much improved functionality.
  • Messages that appear in the middle of the screen (SplitMessage is now deprecated) are now much neater and appear in a list. They use the same system as the death notices so have the same functionality.
  • Increased the internal resolution on all 3D text as well as changing the font face of a few things. This makes 3D text appear much less blurry.
  • Deployable ghosts are now wireframes instead of solid colors.
  • Ammo display color codes are now a bit more diverse.
  • Barricade Kit boards now have health bars instead of enormous colored outlines.
  • Fixed the gamemode occasionally not realizing that there are no more humans left and thus the round continues until a new person joins.
  • Fixed the "waiting for players" text not showing up on the 2nd round and beyond.
  • Fixed the Plank having a much larger model than intended when dropped.
  • Fixed prediction error while running in to props you're holding. Was causing people to collide with props they were carrying on the client.

  • Players that are AFK (60 seconds or not moving since spawning) will no longer be chosen as a starting zombie.
  • Deployable Manhacks now have a slightly larger hitbox to deal with their small default hitbox making it too hard to hit them as a zombie.
  • Deployable Manhacks now smoke and have weaker acceleration when low on health.
  • Deployable Manhack health decreased from 60 to 55. The wrench repair rate has been decreased from 0.66 to 0.25.
  • Deployable Manhack air control improved while at low speeds. Previously the game thought you were in "hover mode" if your velocity was less than a certain amount without caring if you were inputting movement.
  • Added a projected light to Deployable Manhacks. This actually lights the world and entities, it's not the sprite.
  • Crows now have full rotation while in flight.
  • Players cannot jump if they have more than 0.5 "leg damage". This is the type of slow-down you receive when landing. The main purpose of this is to stop bunny hop scripts but it also didn't make sense that people could jump while crippled.
  • Massive optimizations to zombie animation calculations which should raise FPS by a little.
  • Zombies that crouch in mid-air will play crouching animations instead of the standing animations which should make mid-air crouch spam a bit less annoying to humans.
  • Hunter damage has been reduced.
  • Human movement speed has been normalized a bit. Previously fast weapons were VERY fast compared to normal ones and the speed bonuses stacking could make people run nearly the speed of a fast zombie.
  • Slight changes to the Hunter hit effect.
  • Updated gun crosshairs.
  • Fixed the text in text entry boxes being white instead of black.
  • Fixed point_zsmessage eating parts of the text input.
  • Fixed the end of round death camera sometimes being in silly places if you were not near where the last hit was.

Translations are player-made so if you know anyone who speaks a language then tell them.
