Download a program called GlovePie

The website isn't around anymore but you can get it here on Github, someone re-uploaded it
https://github.com/GlovePIEPreservation/GlovePIE

And then, copy that whole script the person above me: Ollu posted and copy it, open GlovePie and paste it in there

Then go up to File > Save and save the .PIE file to where you can easily find it

There! Garry's Mod piano!

Original post for 13 year old grammar:

Who elce thinks there should be MIDI compatibility so you can play a real keyboard as opposed to a non piano keyboard?

I find it weard to play piano with a PC keyboard and I think that there should be MIDI compatibility and besides, it will make it SOOO much better

PLEASE
Yes, please do this. I can play excellent on my MIDI Yamaha but using my PC keyboard is crippling. If you can figure it out, it would be the best mod hands down. I have been trying to write my own script to make it work but the notes are very difficult to play and don't come out half the time.

For those of you interested, you can currently use your midi controllers with the gmod playable piano. It will take some configuration and setup however, you can infact do it. How?

Map every key on your midi keyboard to key strokes on your keyboard. See: https://sites.google.com/site/carlkenner/glovepie

Glove Pie allows you to do this. :)

I've already asked the uploader a few months ago, he said that he would need to implement some modules which he don't want to or just can't. Did you test the key binding, is it working?
Ollu Aug 4, 2014 @ 11:54am
Well, I cant get my MIDI keyboard to bind to keys but i'm working on it.

I've found a script online but it doesn't work with my keyboard, it might work with yours though.

Too bad I can't find mine as I rather play on a classical wooden piano and my electronic keyboard is probably collecting dust somewhere on the attic, and I'm also sure that I have no MIDI cable. I hope it's cheap, I'll reply when I get it someday

Look into AutoIT & Midi CC hotkey mapping. It will allow you to map midi keys to the wierd key combinations required for this addon. It works. :)

Can you also get key - shifted key combinations to it? I mean, pressing white and black keys at the same time, in the long keyboard mode
