NPC empire built Habitat at my map. i installed this mod and then started new map.
I think this mod does not work anymore....

It should be working with 2.8.0 and 2.8.1, but I updated it just now to make certain. Addressing Baron's question, all this mod does it make it impossible for the habitat tech to organically appear as a research option - consequently empires which already start with the habitat tech are unaffected, including Void Dwellers and the diadochi. Getting the Voidborne AP does not affect this.

Does this lock habitats for everyone except people who take the Void Dweller origin, or can Voidborne Ascension Perk still unlock them?

Naturally, if I read the patch notes property there weren't any changes to the workings of habitats so that should be quite effortless - I'm unsure about the beta branch however, if it changes the habitats I'll have to make a separate mod for it, if it doesn't then it should work just as well.

Later being right now apparently. It appears the trouble was that the identifier for the original habitat tech was changed after the update - so the old mod happened to invoke a tech which was no longer in the game. Nevertheless, it should all be perfectly functional now!
