Welcome to the official map theme for the Cities Skylines YouTube series: Seenu.

Read me! No, seriously.

This is no ordinary map theme. It was specifically designed for my YouTube series and if you wish to play with it I suggest you take a close look at the screenshots as some textures like cliff and oil were replaced with different types of sand.

Frequently Asked Questions

When I try loading the save it says: "The custom map theme used by this map or save is missing"?
— I get that message all the time, as long as the map theme appears in the drop-down window just click "Yes" and it'll load fine.

@keshav.rangaswamy I don't know why that might be. Try re-starting Steam, make sure it's not set to "offline".

Actually to be more specific, the theme doesn't show up in the themes tab of the Content Manager, but it shows that I have it subscribed on the Steam Workshop tab.

@keshav.rangaswamy the theme only appears for "Tropical" maps unless you get a mod like the Environment Changer.

the game crashes when I try to load up the map. I deleated all my workshop items and downloaded just the Seenu (official collection), and it still crashes. Other maps load fine, any suggestions for what is going wrong?

I really liked how you showed in your video how to do an import from google maps using vector into cities skylines. I hope one day you could do one on alpha texturing in cities skylines too since there are no videos on the subject anywhere. Cheers!

@Ridge good question! It took me a little while to figure that out, it turns out most of the vanilla textures (and also the ones in this theme) are not 100% opaque, they have an alpha channel with a transparency pattern, that's how you get them to blend in more organically instead of an ugly gradient.

Hi Strict, how do you manage to keep the sand texture dispersed like in vanilla temperate theme?
Everytime I try to change the sand texture it becomes softer like a gradient brush.
