Unit Mod Compilation

Description
This mod contains the data and language files necessary to run any UMC mod. Please put this mod at the highest priority in the mod manager to run other UMC mods.

Unit Compilation
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Unit Mod Compillation (UMC) is the largest collection of unit mods that exists for Age of Mythology. With hundreds of new units, buildings, embellishments, particle effects, and more being added on a continual basis, UMC offers unlimited creative freedom for your scenario projects without forcing you to choose between one unit mod or another. With UMC, you can browse assets created by some of AoM's premier modders as well as from games as varied as World of Warcraft, Halo, Age of Empires III, 0 A.D., and the Age of Mythology Alpha & Beta. Just how much does UMC add to the game? UMC adds significantly more assets than the Tale of the Dragon DLC and almost as much as the entire base game (and it's still growing)!

By centralizing all of the data for the collection in this mod (UMC High Priority), every mod in the UMC collection is mutually compatible and can be effortlessly updated.

Terrain Compilation
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In addition to hosting proto units, UMC is the largest collection of terrain textures available in AoM. With over 300 HD terrains available in the UMC collection (more than tripple the number available in the base game), you have every conceivable tone and environment available to you.

No Overwriting of the Base Game
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why should you be fored to choose between a cool unit mod and some other aspect of the base game? UMC does not overwrite any apsects of the base game except for a few fixes from the Minor Bug Fixes mod. UMC does not implement any balance changes to the base game. UMC does not alter any functionality of the base game or overwrite any units in order to make modded units available - UMC only adds new content to the game.

This has the additional benefit that any scenarios made without or before UMC can still be played exactly as they were intended with the UMC mod active.

Unhidden Units
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In addition to adding new content, UMC also names all the unnamed units in the editor with *** in front of their name (including the unnamed starting ulfsark) and allows the following "Easter Egg" units to be placeable normally in the editor: Apep, Bondi, Golem, Griffon, Trollkarien, Lazer Bear, Lazer Panda, William Walrus, Chicken (Methane), Walking Berry Bush, Forkboy, Flying Purple Hippo, Construction Large, Construction Medium, Construction Small, Titan Gate Dead.

Editor Helpers
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tired of EE’s bugged, black cinematic blocks? UMC High Priority includes a suite of advanced cinematic helper objects. These come in three types: Blocks, Arrows, and Targets. All use editor mode logic in the anim making them visible in the editor but invisible during a game just like standard cinematic blocks. Their features include:
  • all helpers can be quickly found in the unused Test Class
  • separation into individual units lettered A through H allowing more options for triggering
  • painted with player color
  • arrows and targets orient with the terrain to show how units will appear when transformed
  • custom selection circles clearly indicate when the helper has been selected
  • targets are animated to be more visible in the editor
  • all helpers have audio response when placed on the map

Also in the Test Class, you will find a number of dynamic lighting objects. These can be overlapped to increase intensity and come in a number of colors, sizes, and frequencies. These lights also have audio response when placed on the map and have selection circles making them easier to select and move around.

By Scenario Designers, for Scenario Designers
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UMC was specifically designed with scenarios in mind. It is intended to be the ultimate merger of modding and scenario design – after all, what is the use of adding new assets to the game if they aren’t going to be used in a scenario? With over 7,000 active users of the UMC collection, scenario designers needn't worry about limiting their audience by incorporating mods. When you opt to use UMC in your scenarios, you become a full partner in the UMC project. Scenario designers' requests for the UMC collection are given top priority. In almost all cases, making UMC High Priority and the necessary UMC packs required content for your scenario constitutes fair use. Check this page for more info.

Open Involvement
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have a mod that you would like to see incorporated into UMC, please contact Callistonian. You can publish and update your own mod with only data being used by UMC. Check this page for more info.

Compatibility
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UMC is a data mod, and as such, is not online compatible. What this means is that you cannot play with other users who do not have the mod. However, you can play online with other users who have matching UMC mods installed and active. This is a mod collection for scenario designers. It doesn't change anything in the base game except for bug fixes.

So according to the description of this mod, I'm supposed to get a lot of new stuff in my game (?) After downloading this mod and putting right on top of the priority list, my game looks exactly the same as before. Are the new items available only through editor? I don't have anything new in my game.

The game tells me that when I have the World of Warcraft mods active that they are broken and they don't load in, other umc mods work and I already tried to limit it to only one and still doesn't work. Is there something I need to do to make them actually load in their models?

Smite pack 1 its called from the smite vgames ok thanks

Textures should be included with each pack that's compatible with UMC. I don't know which mod you're referring to. It is up to other modders to decide to make their work compatible with UMC. They can upload UMC compatible assets and data files if they choose to.

Ok the big UMC building pack is all blacked got any detailed instructions on how to add the texture file? Also a request for new units from the smite pack that’s only compatible with age of heroes database the Greek gods in the pack are awesome would be rad if you could translate them into your mods, dig your work keep up the good work!

I don't know. That sounds like an issue with the particular scenario, triggers or victory conditions.
