Rory & Sturdivant - 1x2 L2 Office

Description
Hi Skyliners !!!

Today I propose you an update of an original creation by 8bitwonder : Rory & Sturdivant, Attorneys at Law.
Here's a link to the original version : http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=413813667

This building was never updated with nightlights... and a LOT of people asked me to do it... and while I started work I understood why.

Do you know how many different buildings are in the game for 1 tile wide offices ? ONE per level. ONE !!

So, well... here we are.

There was a bit more to do than just adding lights actually. The building was advertised as using "843 polygons"... but was actually pretty heavy (3062 tris... ouch!).
...and the 80 tris auto lod was not very nice looking.

Facts :

The building stands on a 1x2 lot. (meaning it will grow on 1x3 and 1x4 too).
It now uses 1486 tris with 1024* textures
The custom LOD is 42 tris with 128* textures.

It will grow in four different color variations.

If you liked this building, do not forget to leave me a little comment, or to upvote (or both ;) )

Enjoy your game, have fun!

Thanks for the update! Could you do a RICO version of it please?

I have to commend you on a couple of things:

1) You seem to understand something about mesh optimization. Being amateurs, many modders do not understand that 20,000 triangles for an apartment building is not acceptable for a game asset.
2) You seem to understand something about texture memory optimization. Here you use a 1024 map for the main mesh and a 128 (!!) map for the LOD - this is absolutely outstanding. On the workshop you can find trees with 2k triangles and a 2048 map, which is awful.

Thanks for using your brain and putting in that extra effort. Often times optimizing meshes and unwraps is a puzzle game in itself. I have always found it intriguing trying to find ways to trick the human brain and save computer resources as a reward. Great work! :steamhappy:

@Elias, he got fed up with the Devs. Go to the Paradox Plaza, and maybe you found the topic he created there.

does anyone know why tony_r_68 (Zed68) wasn't even online for nearly 2 months now?

After noticing you made a lot of nice looking offices I decided to make a district style for them.
I hope you dont mind me publishing it, you can find it here:

Well done! How did you update the asset? Did you need the original files from the author?

What Riktenkay said below. We need more of the lower level ones. Well done by the way. Subscribed. :P
