Origin: Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei + Gradius + SaGa Frontier

A planet was discovered to be habitable to humankind. However, it had the unfortunate name of Nemesis, which turned most people off from leading the colonization mission. One man however was willing to take the risk and deal with the consequences of the mission, and his name was Roufas.

Roufas was the leader of a secret organization known as Gradius. Alongside his three accomplices Annie, Emelia and Liza (and a bunch of brave passengers), he set forth into space, heading towards Nemesis.

When the colonists arrived, they found that they weren't the only sentient life present, as a humanoid species known as the Wreek had already evolved on the planet. Roufas and his men were able to assimilate the Wreeks, and the hybrid offspring inherited the aliens' psionic abilities.

Consequently, the planet was renamed after the organization that led the successful colonization, and while it was a Galactic Republic founder, the people broke away at 4ABY and became independent again.
