Expanded Infantry Options
An Expansion of Selectable Infantry Units

Updated for 1.17.x.x

Description:
This mod increases the choices available when selecting new infantry units. It keeps the flavor of the original game by retaining the number of pips allocated but offers addition options in allocation. These changes affect all technology groups except North American, Meso American and South American.

Explanation:
I like choices, they make the game fun. I am rather unsatisfied with the limited choices available in infantry units. I understand the desire to give different play feels to different technology groups and the work that went into managing which group 'peaks' at what time. I wanted to channel this while also giving the player some additional options.

Features:
  • Changes made for Western, Eastern, Ottoman, Muslim, Indian, Chinese, Steppe Horde and SubSaharan technology groups.
  • Added upgrade options at levels 5, 9, 12, 15, 18-19, 23, 26 and 30 where none existed
  • Added at least 2 infantry options per groups for all technology levels
  • Maintained game balance by keeping the total pip count consistent with original game. The only exception is the Ottoman level 19 Reformed Janissary Infantry where the pip count is increased from 13 to 14 to keep it consistent with other changes.

Compatible with most mods that do not radically alter game mechanics or add very similar content.
Not Ironman compatible.
This mod requires no DLC but can be used with all DLC
Think of this like an extension of the vanilla experience.
