The Goal
The goal of this guide is to teach players how to survive 80 minutes or more on a Tower 3 Survival mission, or 60 minutes or more on a Tower 4 Survival. Doing so requires a very special team, and a rather common tactic that would be looked down upon in PvP games, known as "camping." To do so, the team requires a very special room, which will be depicted later in the guide. Each team member has one or two positions that they must stay, leaving only to grab loot and lifesupport when necessary. Furthermore, the builds must be very precise. Too big of a range and this tactic won't work. Too small of a range and it won't work. The same concept applies to durations. More on this later in the guide. So, let's get started, shall we?
The Team
The "Team" encompasses Warframes less suited to taking or dealing direct damage, but rather dealing it indirectly, or supporting the team.

This Team requires one healer, a looter, a distraction, and a trapper. You can probably guess the Warframe names, but, for those who can't, they are:

  • Loki or Loki Prime (Can also be substituted for a less effective Nyx or Nyx Prime)
  • Trinity
  • Nekros
  • Vauban

You may ask, why bring these frames? You may think that their damage potential is low or nonexistant. If you thought so, you'd be half right.

The most effective distraction is our Loki or Loki Prime. Why? When equipped with the Radial Disarm augment, Irraditing Disarm, Loki's damage potential skyrockets. Well, kind of. Loki can cause radiation procs on all enemies within range. "What's so great about radiation," you may be wondering. Radiation procs cause enemies to go into a state of confusion, much like Nyx's chaos. They will attack nearby enemies and deal the same amount of damage they would otherwise deal to you, to themselves. Some may be wondering, "Why not just bring Nyx? Then you don't need the augment." Well, no, you wouldn't need the augment. Great thinking! But, can Nyx's Chaos disarm enemies? No, it cannot. When leaving to grab life support it's a great help to not have to deal with bullets that may or may not result in an instant death. Decoy also serves a purpose. Using decoy at either one of the entrances for the location required may bring enemies toward you, thus funneling them into Vauban's vortex. Invisibility will allow Loki to pick up life support. So, Nyx is a good choice, but Loki is better. Loki is best suited with either Corrosive Projection or Energy Siphon*.
Loki's range must be very precise. The range of his Radial Disarm must be between 11.6 and 13.4 meters. This means a Rank 6 Narrow Minded with no range mods, or a Rank 7 Narrow Minded with the Swindle Loki Helmet. The reason the range must be this low is because the enemies need to be close to Vauban's vortex when killed, as this pulls any and all loot to the vortex for easy pick up. It also prevents enemies from fighting at their spawn points, thus preventing a lack of life support or preventing the risk of having to go into the hoardes to pick it up. Since you'll be pretty well protected, a high energy pool with lots of efficiency is nice, but 70% efficiency (Rank 3 Fleeting Expertise + Rank 5 Streamline) works well with Loki Prime's huge energy pool. Throw on a Flow or Primed Flow and you're all set. Duration does matter, so throw on a Continuity or Primed Continuity and Constitution. But remember, NO POSITIVE RANGE MODS.

Since I mentioned Vauban, I might as well talk about him next. Vauban does not require the Perpetual Vortex augment, but it does help immensely. The rest of vauban's abilities may be used as "back up" traps. Bounce can be used to bounce enemies back out of the entrances, while Bastille can give your team a breather. Tesla can be used to give a small amount of damage and stun to encroaching enemies. You want the range on Vauban to be over 100%, but it doesn't need to be huge. Duration helps, along with some efficiency. I suggest max efficiency with a good bit of range (Overextended). Using perpetual vortex can get the duration up to 245 seconds, so you can be a little bit lenient on your duration. Vauban will want to place vortexes just outside of the entrances. Locations with waypoints will be shown later. Vauban works best with Corrosive Projection.

Trinity is our resident healer. She's not there for your health so much as your energy. Using an Energy Vampire build, she can quickly restore energy or keep your energy up after all the power spam you guys will be using. Using the Energy Vampire augment may help later on, but is not necessary. Trinity works best with Rejuvenation.

Nekros will be using an efficiency and range build. This is so he can desecrate loot from most places, and do it without too much strain on his energy. Duration never hurts, since you never know if the enemies might breach the walls. This will help keep them contained when using terrify. Corrosive Projection is most useful on Nekros

*Loki should use Corrosive Projection, as this will give a 90% armor reduction bonus. This helps the enemies kill themselves faster. Loki may also use Energy Siphon to help the Trinity after an Energy Leech eximus has decided to grace all of you with its presence, however this will only cut the armor down by 60%.
The Weapons
This section is just a general overview of how the weapons should be built and used, as well as some suggestions as to what is useful.

First and foremost: Corrosive is nice, radiation is better! In addition: Low damage and high proc is better than high damage and low proc when using radiation for late game. High damage can carry you to around 50 minutes in T3 or 45 in T4. However, that radiation proc is going to save you because the enemies will start attacking themselves.

Suggested Primary Weapons: Tonkor, Soma, Penta, Paris Prime

Suggested Secondary Weapons: Nukor, Synoid Gammacor, Vaykor Marelok, (Sancti) Castanas

Suggested Melee Weapons: Jat Kittag*, Any Whip, Any Throwing Melee

When the jat kittag is build for range, the ground slam can help to get enemies to back off with the intense ragdoll force they will recieve. Whips and throwing weapons are useful for procing because you don't have to get too close and whips can go through walls. The most useful whip for this purpose would be the Lecta, as it has innate Electric damage, which when combined with a Heat mod, gives Radiation.

The Nukor is useful for the innate Radiation damage.
The Tactic
The tactic is to hide in a subroom of a special room in the void. This room has two entrances making it easy to defend, but the room yields lots of enemy spawns due to the many entrances outside of the subroom for the enemies to come from.

Loki should be using radial disarm every couple of seconds, Vauban should be placing vortexes at the entrance, Trinity should be using Energy Vampire whenever possible, and Nekros should always be desecrating. Note that this tactic should be used once you hit roughly 30-40 minutes into T3, or about 25-30 minutes in T4.

You will have roughly 5 minutes to find the room. If it doesn't spawn on that key, you must restart.
The Location

This is the room. Subroom entrance can be seen in image one.

Loki and Nekros should stand here while casting their abilities.

Vauban should be throwing vortexes here and here. Trinity should also cast EV to enemies that pass in that general area.

Yeah, I know some people hate camping. But I thought I'd make it a bit easier for those who want certain parts *narrows eyes at Nova Chassis and Ash Systems*. The reason I chose that place is because there are lots of enemy spawns, and you're unlikely to get shot because there's only two places for them to get in. The vauban is there more for bringing the loot to you, Loki is our "damage dealer".
