proto_citadel_incinerator - Half-Life 2 Beta

proto_citadel_incinerator is a restoration of the WC mappack map of the same name found in the Half-Life 2 Beta. The map takes place in an unknown part of the Citadel, presumably at the lower levels. It's unknown when or where the incinerator was going to be featured in during the original story for Half-Life 2.

It's been speculated that the incinerator is just a simple test map to show how an actual Combine Citadel Incinerator would actually work.

The map has several large holes that go down into massive incinerators, once props, ragdolls & players are thrown down the glowing pits they combust and melt away into nothingness. The same can be said for the crusher, which will break props into tiny pieces and also rip apart any ragdoll or player unlucky enough to fall inside.

- The map is internally referred to as "proto_citadel_incinerator" for those who want to operate by console and it can be found in the Others section of the map select screen.

- The map has been restored on the Half-Life 2: Episode 2 engine, where it will take advantage of the engine specific features and other visual effects.
