Optimized Industry Grid (OIG)

Description
Optimized Industry Grid (OIG) by mavmcleod16

- Subway + Bus: just delete the brownish areas to place the subway stations and use the dead ends next to it for bus stops.
- train station(s): to connect any train station(s) delete (parts of) the walkway near the 6-lane road.

You can easily place some OIGs next to each other and connect them by walkways. I would recommend NOT to connect them by roads. They should be connected well enough by highways.

See an example of 2 connected OIGs providing u with space for 236(!) 4x4 industies in the picture above..... (pic3, the one w/ the yello squares).

Thanks for any suggestions & improvements.

Great grid, however it seems to me that I can't remove those bus stops, and I can't configure those bus stops in any bus route... And hundard of workers keep waiting for their bus in those bus stops... how to slove it?

illdaincubater - your grids are good for like, early game before traffic becomes a problem. Once you hit the midgame, you are better off deleting your grids than upgrading them which makes them vastly inferior.

I will consider that as gameplay advice - I was under the fear that I better use every single 1sqm. I guess that is my OCD kicking in. ;)

@#thadian: you can leave as much tiles as "dead space" as u want. You don't even have to bulid any high density areas.
I like to pack as much industry on ore and oil as I can to get me as much money as possible to keep taxes VERY low (3-4%). If I had a choice I'd like to live in one of my cities....

It works against them rising to highest level but doesn't prevent it. In the early game it doesn't matter because they won't reach highest level anyway. Mid-late game, you have more than enough money for parks and public transport to compensate it.

That said, having some "dead space" here and there isn't the worst thing - it reduces traffic demand on your roads, giving drivers fewer potential destinations which is a good thing.

@slaka: Everything smaller than 4x4 bulidings (res, com, ind, off) in the neighborhood of a 4x4 bulding will prohibit it to rise to its highes level.

I added some pics: pic1 w/ station, pic2 w/ station + highway connection, pic3 2 OIGs combined

As u can see in pic4 & pic5 I also use it as an Optimized Commercial/Office Grid.
