- No shoulder swapping, makes peeking left around corners impractical. Died a good few times that way.
- No zoom, makes the DMR impractical to use.
- Ally ODST didn't do much in my playthrough, they either sat behind me or got domed by an enemy.
- Dodge/roll has a huge animation lock at the end where you stand back up, fine if you use it to get behind cover but doesn't feel great.
For those reasons, my gameplay mostly boiled down to sitting behind cover and waiting for the enemy to push, or taking a long flanking route. It does feel like trying to push a cube through a circular hole--the original game wasn't built with this kind of gameplay in mind. But when it does work, it feels great, and again a really cool idea.
