Description
NOTICE: If you are stuck in infinite loading screens make sure your Halo CE multiplayer add-on is installed.

Ever wondered what it would be like to play through Halo: Combat Evolved with lore-accurate weapon damage and health values, mimicking the Chief’s story in the novel The Flood? This is the mod for you.

Gameplay Tips:
-1v1 fights are manageable, but being outnumbered or caught in crossfire without cover can quickly overwhelm you.
-Keep your Marines alive. With a Spartan drawing fire, they become nearly unstoppable. Without them, survival becomes much harder.
-Try out all weapons. With lore accurate balance, even weapons like the Needler can be surprisingly effective, even without supercombines (few things in real could stand being impaled by 3 large shards that explode and the lore supports this.)

How Lore Damage Was Achieved:
This mod adjusts weapon and entity damage/health values to align with Halo lore, based on extensive research across novels, comics, and other sources.
-Lore weapon damage varies widely (depending on the author and dramatic intent).
-To balance this, values were averaged into consistent “middle ground” figures.
-Final weapon damage vs. unit types is included in an image with the mod.

Note: The Mona Lisa story describes combat forms very differently from other sources, so its damage portrayal was not incorporated.

Technical Details:
-All .Model_Collision Geometry vitality set to 100.
-All weapons’ .damage_effect base damage set to 100.
-Weapon-specific damage modifiers were tuned to produce lore-accurate kill shot counts per enemy type.

Difficulty Tuning:
All difficulties use lore-accurate damage values, but differ in AI behavior:
-Easy, Normal, Heroic: Same damage but AI accuracy and firing speed scale with difficulty.
-Legendary: Sharper accuracy, faster firing speed, and slightly more enemies for an increased challenge.

Non-Damage Adjustments To Bring Gameplay Closer To Lore:
-Assault Rifle: Higher precision when feathering shots. Continuous fire causes bloom.
-Plasma Rifle: Faster firing, closer to later Halo games.
-Needler: Faster fire rate and projectile speed, consistent with other games.
-Magnum: Increased firing speed.
-Flood: Fire weapons more frequently and aggressively, though with poor accuracy to reflect their reckless style.
-Human Flood: Better with human weapons, worse with Covenant weapons.
-Elite Flood: Better with Covenant weapons, worse with human weapons.
-Headshots: Any weapon can kill with a headshot if the target is unshielded.
-Grenades: Increased blast radius.
-Ghosts: Faster, reflecting lore as speedy scout/attack vehicles.
-Enemy AI: Engage from much longer ranges.
-Marines: Fire longer bursts and engage from greater distances.

I think they're being a bit too tanky against Sniper Rifles.

And as for Zealots, I got the impression that they were easier to kill than Majors, but I gotta test that out

@Solur Voludun It's probably working as intended. Covenant shields are very tanky against certain types of weapons. Specifically ballistic weapons. Spartan shields are even tankier against ballistic weapons and can take a full clip of AR rounds before collapsing in the lore.

Elite minor shields in the lore can tank 5-10 AR rounds while Zealots are shown to tank 30 at times. In the mod, Elite ranks have their shields scale while their health remains the same. Majors have shields increased by 50%. Zealots (golds) scale up to 300%. Is there a specific weapon you think they're too tanky against?

So I'm going to point out something I'm not sure if it's working as intended or should be fixed, but Elite Majors (the ones with red armor) are a bit too tanky
