A1E1独立坦克是一款实验性的英国多炮塔坦克。其研发始于1922年，深受一战坦克设计经验的影响，尤其体现在其众多的反步兵武器、薄弱的装甲以及为了穿越战壕而增大的尺寸上。它参考了法国的Char2C坦克，但重量更轻，机动性更强；多炮塔概念后来影响了许多其他坦克的设计，包括苏联的T-28和T-35，以及德国的“新建筑坦克车”（Neubaufahrzeug）。

The A1E1 Independent tank was an experimental British multi-turret tank. Development began in 1922 and was heavily influenced by the lessons learned from World War I tank design, particularly its infantry anti-weapon capabilities, weak armor, and increased size for trench penetration. It resembled the French Char 2C tank, but was lighter and more maneuverable. The multi-turret concept later influenced the design of numerous other tanks, including the Soviet T-28 and T-35, and the German Neubaufahrzeug (New Architecture Tank).
