Commissioned 48 years ago by the Interstellar Prospecting Guild (IPG), a loosely-regulated, organization made up of explorers, scientists, and corporate surveyors. The IPG funds expeditions to uncharted systems in search of new resources, habitable worlds, or just raw data they can sell to the highest bidder. They operate mostly outside most government control. the Falcon Polaris was designed as part of the “Frontier Trail” initiative; a loosely funded push to explore uncharted systems beyond the Perseus Veil, a massive, poorly mapped region of space beyond the outer colonies, named for the dense clouds of cosmic dust and gas that shroud it. Sensors fail, communications drop out, and ships disappear often. No one really knows what’s out there, which is exactly why people keep going. It wasn’t built by a government, but by a patchwork of independent engineers, ex-military mechanics, and corporate dropouts, all trying to make something reliable, and modular, as a side effect, it was way too expensive, which is why only one ship of the PVEsc-05 model was ordered. After the IPG recieved the ship, it was nicknamed, The Falcon Polaris.

Today, the IGP needs ships that could stay out for years, operate without resupply, and adapt to whatever the galaxy threw at them. But the Falcon Polaris being an aged ship it couldn't spend so long without being resupplied however it could adapt to almost any situations. So when most of the fleet fell apart, got lost, or were cannibalized for parts and the Falcon Polaris endured. It became something of a legend—not because it was powerful, but because it kept surprisingly coming back despite its outdated technology.

At the start of its life the Falcon Polaris was a high-tech ship, a 'one of a kind', for example the Polaris was the first spaceship to feature Arc reactors, which could spend years without being refueled, were extremely compact, and unlike the previously used nuclear reactor, which needed to be continuously maintained even in space, the arc reactors of the craft were only checked on earth, which is why the vessel lacks any kind of machinery room or engine room, which meant more space for the crew, and therefore better living conditions inside of the spaceship. It was also one of the first spacecrafts to feature a force field hatch. And with its recycling systems; mainly for water and oxygen; decently sized cargo space, it was designed for long time missions by the time standards.

The Falcon Polaris is a mid-sized exploration ship built for long-range missions, again by the time standards, and rough conditions. It carries up to 8 crew members and balances utility. The top of the ship is lined with solar panels, feeding its systems with steady, clean energy, no fancy warp cores here, just reliable power and grit.

The interior is split into two main zones: the front holds the living quarters for the crew, while the entire rear is dedicated to storage, equipment, supplies, findings, and whatever else the mission throws at them. This storage area is big enough to store 2 years of living supplies, but can be resupplied extremely easely by a small cargo vessel. In case of emergency, the ship is furnished with small plantation spots on the walls and roof that can be detached to grow and harvest food, and the ship water recycling system makes sure the craft never runs out of water. As well as two additional areas, a second floor, made up of the small cockpit, designed for one pilot, and a small turret on the port side of the ship, it is equipped with a small autocannon, enough to deal with most small threats incoming, but not much more.

Propulsion comes from the four main arc thrusters and a fifth, bar-mounted stabilizing unit that gives the ship its distinctive silhouette. It doesn’t move fast, but it moves well enough.

There’s only one way in or out: a force field hatch on the right side of the hull. No doors, just a shimmering barrier like something out of an old sci-fi movie. Simple, clean, and hard to breach. Wich can be reached by a ladder than can be deployed automatically at the press of a button.

The Falcon Polaris was built for exploration, and confort, although outdated by modern standards, but definitely not combat. In the cold silence of deep space, it's the kind of ship you want to call home, reliable, safe, and comfortable enough
