Description
The ultimate Halo 3 Marine Campaign. Mild epilepsy warning.

Play as a marine from Sierra 117 to Floodgate. Play as an ODST from The Ark to Halo.
Fight alongside an AI Masterchief, with competent allies you WILL rely on to survive.

This isn't just a biped swap, its a full game overhaul.

This mod is very hard. Play on legendary for the intended experience, but be warned it will not go easy on you. You are completely outgunned in most encounters, especially without allies. Lower difficulties should work fine though, if your not up to legendary.

|| Main features ||

Overhauled sandbox focusing on more realism, tactical gameplay, lethal weapons. Still retains some balancing though. While I won't spoil every balancing change but:

One of the biggest is that weapons that are actually heavy. While you CAN duel wield and CAN carry around giant machine guns, your accuracy, handling, and speed will take big hits. You can't duel wield the spiker, based off that one H3 Trailer where a veteran said the spiker was heavy.

Brute shot/flamethrower speed is equivalent to vanilla H3 turret speed. Plasma and machine gun turrets slow you to a crawl and are very hard to control. Rocket and Fuel rod also have speed penalties.

Backsmacking enemies will NO LONGER instant kill them unless you use a bladed weapon like the Spiker, brute shot, energy sword, or gravity hammer. Automag bullets are silent meaning you can properly stealth kill with it, etc etc.

Boarding vehicles disabled. You're just a guy, not a super soldier. Get creative when dealing with vehicles.

New music and new ambience. Its a war out there, you know.

A few easter eggs. Some new, some replaced.

// Campaign Improvements \\

-Darker environments on Floodgate and High Charity (GOOD LUCK), with flashlights and other light sources being buffed to help you (this is why theres a epilepsy warning). Functional Silenced SMG and Automag flashlights

-More chaotic gunfights. Being damaged now is very disorienting and dangerous.

-Enemies are no joke. Brutes WILL kick your ass easily, fear hammer chieftains.

-Allies are vastly improved. More of them, better AI, friendly Chief. You'll be missing them when you're alone.

-New music from Halo 3 ODST, new ambience from Reach, H2A, ODST

-Player is no longer referred to as Chief directly, either in scripted or combat dialog.

-Player is accurately represented in custom cutscenes created in game. Co-op accounted for too, you'll see all 4 of the marines or ODSTs going through their own story behind Chief's.

-Arbiter and AI Chief now always appear, even if co-op. There's still chunks of the game where you only have Chief or they're both gone.

// Multiplayer Improvements \\

-Complete multiplayer package. Play as ODSTs with functional team colors in PVP.

-Multiplayer maps have had environmental improvements, new lore created for map descriptions

-Troop Hog is present on certain maps. You can ride on the sides of scorpions too.

-Multiplayer balancing geared around tactical slower paced gameplay. Since you don't have shields you're basically playing SWAT all the time. It is roughly balanced around matching legendary difficulty damage so you'll feel about as weak as you do there.

|| ISSUES/NOTICES ||

-On Multiplayer, overshield powerups do absolutely nothing, because you don't have shields.

-A bit of combat dialog might have slipped through the cracks, so you might still be called chief very rarely.

-Co-op players 3 and 4 have the same voice, because the way its designed is that both 3 and 4 share the same biped, but player 4 has a different model (bc they were designed to both be elites)

-Arbiter on The Ark functions weird during co-op, less dialog. Also, Guaranteed 4 ODSTs during cutscene even if solo. This is because the scenario and scripting are absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and i literally cannot recompile scripts to fix it and ive put too much
into the scenario to just start over and i didnt back it up, so WHATEVER i guess

-Enemy AI still prefer to target you. This sucks and I hate it but theres nothing I can do sadly.

-Co-op bugged for the start of Sierra-117. Start from a rally point instead until I can fix it.

-I CANNOT PLAYTEST CO-OP. so PLEASE let me know if there's issues with it and I'll fix them ASAP!

-NO IDEA HOW MULTIPLAYER BALANCING HAS WORKED. I don't have people I can playtest multiplayer with so PLEASE use the Multiplayer feedback discussion to help me balance it. Video clips encouraged too.

Ty to people in the modding discords for providing help with handling audio

This mod takes a bit of inspiration from Trooper Firefight, mostly in how gunfights feel. Also inspired by DrearyMussell and the various other Marine campaigns, obviously.

Been making this since around April? Right after I was done making HRP I set to work on a Halo CE rebalance, but I got heavily disouraged because it felt like a worse verison of Ruby's CE. A lot of the CE rebalances assets like the grunt heavy, elite ultra, etc were salavaged and used in Space Club. I still have the CE Polished files so I might return to it and finish it, idk.

It was definitely better to make YAMC instead of CE Polished because when I make mods, I try to innovate. I made HRP because there weren't any good Halo Reach Vanilla+ mods and Ruby's Reach was abandoned. I made YAMC because I was disappointed in most of the Halo Marine Campaigns. You were referred to as the Chief, you ALWAYS were an ODST, etc. It felt really weird playing Halo 3: Trooper and being the only ODST among like 10 marines at the start of the game. This is basically meant to be the best possible marine campaign you can make for Halo 3.

Also making and compiling this mod made me LOSE MY MIND BECAUSE I'D ALWAYS FORGET SOMETHING!!

I think a really neat detail is all the "new" unique dialogue that usually isn't heard in the base game.

"You can't duel wield the spiker, based off that one H3 Trailer where a veteran said the spiker was heavy." ahahaha yes man, this attention to detail is what the world needs x)

Played through a couple levels. I don't know what you did to make things feel so much more visceral, but every mod needs to have whatever you've put into it (is it lighting effects? Screen shake from taking hits and shooting? Being smaller?). Yeah, I love that guns have recoil, it feels amazing. One thing I could agree with others' on is the need for the health bar to be displayed.

I don't even know if my health regenerates (I suspect it does, just slowly). This is close to being perfect.

This looks fvcking awesome! Exactly what I was looking for in a marine playthrough, not just 'you're a reskinned masterchief!'.

why third person and no scope?
WizNeRrd Apr 6 @ 7:58pm
The shotgun was so damn satisfying as a marine, freakin had arby backing my marine and we slow pushed through first flood level damn and i was on normal

Sad to hear but if its giving you so much trouble to update then that's fine. honestly didn't realize recompiling maps was such a time consuming process myself.
Siegebreaker  [author] Apr 2 @ 1:25pm
Alright, im cutting my losses. This mod is deprecated and abandoned.

Its VERY VERY janky internally. I can't even compile scripts on the Ark anymore it just ignores me when i recompile. And the process I have to go through to compile everything and allow for ODST players on the Ark and Marines on earth, its very complex and I have to do it in chunks and modify globals each time. Not to mention this mod has a functioning multiplayer that no one talks about or really even knows exists, and that adds another 2 hours to the already 6 hour long compile time for maps.

I really dont want to deprecate this one due to the amount of time I spent working on it, but yeah.

Ill update it to keep up with any mcc updates, but thats it. Sorry.

I'll probably tag release this on nexus soon.

at the warthog run, only chief gets in the hog and arbiter just stands there not doing anything, but when i get arbiter in the hog chief just stand there not doing anything. neither want to get in the warthog when either chief or arbiter get in turret
