Female Dominion

Description
This mod transforms all historical characters into females.
For randomly generated characters across all interest group (including company executives) female spawn rates are raised to about 90%. Passing additional feminist laws can boost this to nearly 100%.

Gameplay Changes:
  • You can grant leadership to female characters.
  • Events such as extramarital affairs, syphilis, and others can now occur for women as well.
  • The "Doctrine of Lapse" event can no longer trigger for states with female rulers or heirs in colonial India. Independence penalties for female rulers and heirs have also been removed. I considered reversing the mechanic to punish only male rulers/heirs, but this hasn’t been fully tested.

Compatibility:
** 08.2024: Tested with version 1.7.5.
** 12.2024: Tested with version 1.8.6.
** 06.2025: Tested with version 1.9.0.

Known Issue
Paradox has an implicit gender check in the engine, preventing the "general" property from being granted to existing female leaders or agitators, even if this mod removes restrictions. Female generals can still be auto-generated, but you cannot use the "grant command" button on existing female characters.

Hi Devi, thanks for your feedback! From what I know, version 1.8 is still dealing with some bugs, and Paradox is updating it frequently. I plan to update the mod once 1.8 becomes more stable.

For now, I recommend either disabling the mod or rolling back to the stable 1.7 version.

Love this mod! Running into an issue in 1.8 where a diplomatic play will cause a crash to desktop. I have a save where it will consistently happen with only this mod enabled; let me know if I can be of any help.

Hi Hilt, for the option of "not changing historical figures' gender," you might want to check out these mods:

More Female Leaders by @Walrus: Website link
This mod doesn't change the gender of historical figures; it just generates more non-historical female leaders at about a 50% rate.

Amazon Nations by @MacBaldwin: Website link
This one also doesn’t alter historical figures’ gender but creates fictional nations with a lot of female characters who can appear in other countries too.

As for adding a UI button to change a character's gender, it's not something I planned on including. But feel free to explore it on your own! Just credit this mod.

I hope this mod can have more adjustable settings, such as allowing historical figures to not change gender, and non-historical figures generated later will still be affected according to the function of the mod.
