GE C44-9W - UP System Edition

General Electric Dash 9 series for Union Pacific, Chicago & North Western and Southern Pacific.

This mod includes randomized road numbers and the liveries associated with them. Unlike the BNSF version, the random numbers here aren't specially coded so you'll see inaccurate road numbers applied to some models. (- IRL, SP units 8100-8200 on UP are 9564-9664, CNW 8601-8730 on UP are 9665-9699 and 9740-9834. CNW has a gap because UP's original Dash 9 series began as the 9700 fleet. Acquiring CNW's 130 units caused it to exceed its limits. 9835 is the beginning of the modern SD50 series, so the numbering of the Dash 9s backtracks to 9699 and starts counting downwards. SP's units continues from the CNW units at 9664 downwards. This is done to all UP acquisitions that exceeds their fleet number range, as seen with the SP SD70s as UP 3999-3973 and skipping 3985 for the Challenger steam locomotive.)

Today, the UP Dash 9s are numbered 9564-9834 with 75 units converted to AC4400CWMs. Those 75 units redebut in the new modern take of the Armor Yellow scheme with the post-9/11 flag being minimized and relocated to the cab. With the anticipation of the future release of the AC4400CW, the Mini Flag scheme has been replaced with the more lore accurate Winged Armour Yellow and becomes available in 2006.

The first batch of units are available in 1993.
