Planetary Mega Engineering

Description
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mod development on hold until 4.0 as the changes are quite substantial.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Planetary Mega Engineering is a mod where you will build powerful planetary megastructures that make planets considerably more valuable and strategically important.

Unlock the decisions that allow you to build these powerful deposits by researching the required technologies.

The deposits themselves range from a space elevator to an orbital defence network and much more. I'll let you discover most for yourselves.

This mod was created with tall empires in mind or people who simply want planets to matter more than they do.

The mod is intentionally overpowered and is intended to be used with other overpowered mods.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Supported Version and Compatibility:

Version 3.14.X

This mod should work with most other mods as it does not overwrite any files.

If you get crashes, even if the mod says it's out of date, test the mod on its own. Most likely there's another mod that overwrites base game files and breaks this mod (or is causing crashes on its own). If you find a mod is incompatible after testing on your end, make sure you include the name of the mod in your comment.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

KNOWN ISSUES:

ANY planetary action that wipes deposits will remove this mods deposits as well. EX: Ecumenopolis completion.

This includes starting the game on a planetary diversity planet with this mods custom origin.

Looking forward to the new update and glad to see what this mod can do with BioGenesis

I love the mod!

Could we get the option to remove the structures, aside from using the console though?

Using mods like ACOT bloats the jobs management and makes a good chunk of basegame jobs redundant at some point in progression.

Question after more understanding: You have:

pme_d_machine_orbital_robotics_assembly_labs = {

is_for_colonizable = yes
should_swap_deposit_on_terraforming = no
use_for_min_max_adjustments = yes
category = deposit_cat_rare

country_modifier = {
ROBOT_species_trait_picks_add = 1
ROBOT_species_trait_points_add = 1
}

correct for an machine emoire woud be
country_modifier = {
MACHINE_species_trait_picks_add = 1
MACHINE_species_trait_points_add = 1

Machine empires have no robots. Is this an oversight or an bug?

@Lex Tempest as these are planetary decisions and not buildings, the AI doesn't realize what it actually does. The AI isn't easy to manipulate or teach something new. I've never seen them use it.

Do AI empires take advantage of this mod too?

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but the research options for all the planetary decisions won't show up if you're living on a shattered ring world. Not a huge deal since you can just colonize other planets to get them to show up, plus any existing decisions would be wiped when you repair the ring segment anyway, but still.

@Just a person ? and @reshuram05, there is actually a fix, if you check the discussions tab and look at the most recent one, from me on a different account. I had hoped it would be integrated into the main mod, since it would take about 5 minutes to add because it's only 1 file, but the dev seems to be busy. I'm going to make it into a tiny standalone mod now, which should take like 15 min, so it should be up and linked in the discussion by the time you see this.

@justaperson I got around this by upgrading to ecumemoplis first. I also have gigastructural engineering and planetary diversity, so I only encase worlds that are terrafomed lifeless worlds
just a person ? Jan 5 @ 10:08pm
is there any option when convert regular planet into Ecumenopolis world without remove all the decision ?
