Description
Introduction
Enhanced Special Items aim to strengthen special items in JA3 by adjusting their stats and adding modification options.
Special items in JA3 add flavor to the game. I enjoyed obtaining these items at my first play-through as they are always unexpected and unique. However, most special weapons would become obsolete when players reach the middle-late game as high-tier weaponry and armor have much better stats, while most memorable items are not even modifiable to be allowed to adapt to the changing environment. The mod is, therefore, created to make slight improvements to the special items.

Changes to special armor and items:

  • Leather Vest (Nails): Can now be combined with Weave Padding or Kompositum 58. You can combine with Kompositum 58 EVEN IF you have already combined with Weave Padding, though the stats are the same as the one created via the original item and Kompositum 58.

  • Ushanka (Ivan): Can now be combined with Weave Padding or Kompositum 58. You can combine with Kompositum 58 EVEN IF you have already combined with Weave Padding, though the stats are the same as the one created via the original item and Kompositum 58.

  • Death Squad Armor Set (Shaman Quest Reward): Can now be combined with Kompositum 58. There are no Weave Padding combinations due to the strength of the set of armor in the early-mid game.

  • Gasmaskenhelm: Due to its limited number in vanilla, the item is now allowed to be crafted by combining a Kevlar Helmet with a Gas Mask.

  • Medium Camo Armor: Due to its limited number in vanilla, the item is now allowed to be crafted by combining a Kevlar Armor with a Light Camo Armor. Also offer protection to arms.

  • Reanimation set: Due to its limited number in vanilla, the item is now allowed to be crafted by combining a Med Kit with a Metaviron shot.

Changes to special weaponry:

  • Custom Six-Shooter (Tex): Can now be modified with an extended barrel or short barrel.

  • MG58 (Subway Quest Reward): The Kompositum 58 barrel significantly reduced the overall weight of the gun. Cumbersome tag removed. The improved iron sights are no longer there for a description flavor only. Aiming bonus increased from 2 to 3.

  • Gold Fever (Loot From Boss): The Golden Coating makes the gun heavier, but not enough for it to be considered cumbersome. Cumbersome tag removed. AP cost increased from 6 to 8. Why is there a magazine on the gun if you load only 1 bullet at a time? Magazine size increased from 1 to 2. Reload cost increased from 1 to 2.

  • The Lion's Roar (Guerilla Quest Reward): Magazine size increased from 20 to 25. Range increased from 16 to 20.

  • Confidante (Herman Quest Reward): Can now be modified with extended barrel and x5 scope.

  • Ma Baxter's Argument Invalidator (Headshot Quest Reward): Can now be modified with long barrel high cap.

  • Composite Machete (Crafted by Wlad): Can now be sharpened to increase damage from 16 to 24.

  • The Thing (Loot From Boss): Can now be sharpened to increase damage from 18 to 22 (less buff due to the high strength bonus of the weapon).

Change to special melee weapons locked on characters:
Once a weapon is upgraded through combination, it will be forcefully moved to the corresponding character's inventory. Players will never be able to equip locked items unique to characters again after combination. To avoid complicated code modification while keeping these special weapons locked, the decision is to give mercs with special melee weapons free upgrades for their favorite knives.

  • Endless knives (Blood): now starts as a balanced version. Increase range from 8 to 12.

  • Gut Hook Knife (Omlin): now starts as a sharpened version. Increase damage from 12 to 18.

  • Legion's Pride (Pierre): now starts as a sharpened version. Increase damage from 16 to 20 (less buff due to the low AP cost of the weapon).

特殊护甲的改动:

  • 皮革背心(钉子): 可以与编织物或复合金58组合来提升防护强度。即便已经与编织物组合也依然可以与复合金58组合,但数据跟使用无编织物组合出来的版本相同

  • 雷锋帽(伊万): 可以与编织物或复合金58组合来提升防护强度。即便已经与编织物组合也依然可以与复合金58组合,但数据跟使用无编织物组合出来的版本相同

  • 死亡小队套装 (萨满任务奖励): 可以与复合金58组合来提升防护强度。本mod未制作编织物组合选项,因为此套装在游戏前中期已经足够强大

  • 防毒面具头盔: 作为DLC才加入的装备防毒面具头盔的获得几率很低。因此现在允许通过组合凯拉夫头盔和防毒面具来直接制造

  • 中型迷彩护甲: 中型迷彩护甲打完整局也见不到几个。因此现在允许通过组合凯拉夫护甲和轻型迷彩护甲来直接制造,同时提供对手臂的保护。

  • 复苏套件: 复苏套件获得几率很低。因此现在允许通过组合医疗兵和超原液来直接制造

特殊武器的改动:

  • 定制六发左轮 (特克斯): 获得长枪管和短枪管的改造选项

  • MG58 (德棍地铁DLC奖励): 复合金58制作的枪管极大地减轻了枪械重量。移除笨重(无自由移动)词条。枪械描述中的改进瞄具不再仅仅是增加代入感的文本,瞄准加成从2增加到3

  • 黄金热(钻石红工头掉落): 虽说枪体镀金让重量有所增加,但镀金的枪变得跟巴雷特一样笨重也太离谱了,因此移除笨重(无自由移动)词条,作为平衡行动力花费由6增加至8。要是一次只能装一发害要枪模型上的弹夹何用?(恼)弹夹内的弹药量由1增加为2,但换弹花费的行动力也由1增加为2

  • 雄狮怒吼 (游击队任务奖励): 弹夹内弹药量由20增加至25,射程由16增加至20

  • 挚友 (包庇赫尔曼奖励): 获得5倍狙击镜和长枪管改装

  • 大妈的争论平息者 (爆头男爵任务奖励): 获得长枪管改装

  • 复合砍刀 (同科学家对话概率合成): 可以和磨刀石组合为锋利版本,将伤害由16提升到24

  • 那东西 (意大利黑帮掉落): 可以和磨刀石组合为锋利版本,将伤害由18提升到22(因本体性能较好,降低了组合加成)

锁定在佣兵身上的特殊刀具改动:
在组合物品后,任何产生的非护甲改进物品都会被强制扔进背包,即便它们是锁定在佣兵身上的武器也一样。因此组合锁定的武器会导致组合后的新武器永远被锁在背包不能移动,而为解决这问题去修改底层代码又有些小题大做。因此,拥有锁定刀具的佣兵直接被设定装备了锁定武器的改进版本,而不需要自行改进武器。

  • 无尽之刀(血欲): 初始便为平衡版本,投掷射程由8增加到12

  • 钩肠刀(欧姆林): 初始便为锋利版本,伤害由12增加到18

  • 军团荣耀(皮埃尔): 初始便为锋利版本,伤害由16增加到20(因本体性能较好,降低了组合加成)

@Kaerius The problem with leaving the combined item unlocked is that once you combine it you are able to equip these items for any character, which is not the intention of the mod design. Non-weaponry character item combinations are there based on the expectation that they stay on the character rather than going into the inventory after combination based on the tests from my end. And if things contradicts with my results it's likely there's a mod conflict or the game updates its rules (which it did not).

@FunnyFruit I ended up eventually fixing the bug in the mod using the mod editor. All I had to do was uncheck the "locked" checkbox for the upgraded Ushanka, which you'd put there.

部分物品已经超越原版同系装备了,最好是强度差不多,但侧重有所不同。像这样有最优解反而无趣。

应该在本地化描述里面添加翻译,打上mod之后又回归英文了
