Palmerston Forts

Palmerston Forts, a series of coastal defense structures in the UK and Ireland, were constructed during the Victorian era based on recommendations from the 1860 Royal Commission on the Defence of the United Kingdom. Named after Lord Palmerston, they were colloquially termed 'Palmerston's Follies' due to concerns about their practicality and cost. Built in response to perceived threats, the Portsmouth forts aimed to safeguard the dockyard from potential French invasion. Criticized for their expense and obsolescence as the French navy threat waned, these forts were divided into four groups around Portsmouth, including sea forts, Portsea Island forts, Portsdown Hill forts, and Gosport peninsula forts. Additional defenses were also established on the Isle of Wight.

Mod contains asset models of Fort Brockhurst, Fort Gilkicker and Gilkickers Position Finders. Also included are armament assets.
