Really cool experience. The start was pretty painful, though. Hollow Knight has lots of things possible with very few abilities unlocked, so a lot of my critical stuff to really do much took a long time to trickle in. We ended up playing about half of it async, with the HK player doing what they could, then me hopping on and clearing what I could, back and forth. It took us around twelve hours total with about half of that played together.
We never unlocked the healing ability in HK because it was locked behind a panel I couldn't find. That meant a part of the cutscene when beating the boss for the easy ending was impossible, so the other player had to go for a harder ending.
