Archipelago

Omschrijving
Archipelago is an open-source project that supports randomizing a number of different games and combining them into one cooperative experience. Items from each game are hidden in other games. For more information about Archipelago, you can look at their website (https://archipelago.gg/).

This is a "map" that modifies Lingo so that it can be played as part of an Archipelago multiworld game.

Project readme: https://code.fourisland.com/lingo-archipelago/about/

Lingo is included with Archipelago 0.4.4 and later. You can set up a Lingo world on the Archipelago website: https://archipelago.gg/games/Lingo/player-options

If you want to play solo, fill out the above form and click Generate Game. It will provide you with the connection details that you can input into the Lingo mod.

If you want to play with others, each player should fill out the form and click Export Settings to get a yaml file. Yaml files for other Archipelago-supported games can be used too. One player should put all of the yaml files into a zip file, and upload it on the Host Game page on the Archipelago website.

There is an auto-tracker available: https://code.fourisland.com/lingo-ap-tracker/about/

Just finished a Level 1 The End run with colors and doors as items but no puzzles randomized. A second player was playing Hollow Knight.

Really cool experience. The start was pretty painful, though. Hollow Knight has lots of things possible with very few abilities unlocked, so a lot of my critical stuff to really do much took a long time to trickle in. We ended up playing about half of it async, with the HK player doing what they could, then me hopping on and clearing what I could, back and forth. It took us around twelve hours total with about half of that played together.

We never unlocked the healing ability in HK because it was locked behind a panel I couldn't find. That meant a part of the cutscene when beating the boss for the easy ending was impossible, so the other player had to go for a harder ending.

I'm not familiar with how Archipelago works, but this looks really cool! Maybe I'll try a singleplayer randomized run sometime.
