So then, in the midst of everything going on in the background, I am pleased to finally be able to finish this. Considering the amount of weapons and the new systems I had to put in them, the launch assault rifles from Cold War wasn't so quick to make. However, they are finally here.

1) XM4
"Full-auto assault rifle. Reliable damage with improved fire rate. Fair weapon control when sustaining fire."

The XM4 is one of the weapons I've made before in ArcCW. That version stands no chance against what I was able to come up with now. Probably the weapon that stole the most time. I feel that this XM4 stands strong among the other assault rifles that made here.

In cold war, this weapon is just basically a simple assault rifle. Can't think of any downsides or upsides. Common use has been seen by me but I prefer other AR's thats been added to the game after launch. This weapon has some cool blueprints though, like with the M16 style upper receiver.

Customization wise, as expected there are a lot of options. I was able to get a quad rail handguard from a blueprint that serves as a nice handguard replacement and some more options to attach tacticals to. Like other assault rifles in game, this weapon has a ton to mess with. One thing to note though is that the receiver change is not implemented yet. I plan to include that when I make the M16, on Tactical Rifles.


2) AK-47
"Full-auto assault rifle. High damage with a marginally slower fire rate. Excellent stopping power for mid to short range encounters."

My AK platform is a culmination of 3 different AK models introduced in the game. In the alpha version, the weapon is correctly modeled after an AK-47, but for some reason they changed the model to be more like an AKM in the beta and full release. Right now, its just a mix of AK-47 and AKM elements. There is also a Chinese version of the AK, being the Type 56 in the campaign. My goal was to combine all of these three models and create a master Cold War AK for GMOD.

This weapon is really solid to run on cold war. In the assault rifles class, this and the Vargo 52 are most commonly used. Fun to use, but not fun to be on the other end of it.

You can almost change everything in this gun. This has got to be by far my most customizable weapon. The freedom of choosing between some of the AK variants with the barrels and stocks and receivers should be delightful, hopefully.


3) Krig 6
"Full-auto assault rifle. Improved damage and accuracy. Excellent weapon control and visibility when sustaining fire."

Swedish assault rifle. Gets the job done. Not much to talk about.

Cold War performance is alright, would prefer to run something else but if you force me to use this I wont be mad.

I like that they added different models for every barrel attachment on this gun. It's one of the rare weapons that have this non-laziness, well if we exclude the magazine attachments being identical with the XM4. Customization should be pretty okay with this.


4) QBZ-83
"Full-auto assault rifle. Superior mobility with improved handling speeds. Erratic initial recoil with less accurate hipfire spread."

This is one of the weapons that can't really decide what its wants to be. It looks like a QBZ-95-1, but the markings indicate the gun is a QBZ-97. And yeah lets not forget the fact that this gun literally time travelled into Cold War.

One of the OK guns in Cold War. Can't recall my experience with it in game that much.

The QBZ in particular has special attachments no other weapon have in the game. It has its own set of tacticals minus the flashlights, and a set of its own muzzle attachments. The goofy looking aspect of some of them truly fits this weapon if you ask me.


5) FFAR 1
"Full-auto assault rifle. Fast fire rate with quick reloading speeds. Modest damage and slightly less ammo capacity."

The FAMAS has got to be one of the most hated weapons of all time. Judging by the fact that it lost more polls than I can count, and I've seen every single person with a pulse have negative opinions all around. It's truly funny.

Poll loser weapon is somehow really good in cold war. I recently started to use this weapon and it really clashes with the SMG's in game. It's fast fire rate provides good amount of lead in short time to kill somebody non-efficiently.

Like the Krig, this weapon also has different and interesting barrel attachments. It's your choice to make it uglier than it already is, or make it look a little bit nicer. A little. Oh forgot to mention the weapon has a usable bipod if you want to delete someone a little further away.



With a whole new rig, whole new way of managing animations and a whole new base, BOCW weapons couldn't have gotten better.

Hello, i've wanted to say that this si one of my favourite addons out there. There are still some bugs tho like, sometimes the WZ sound doesn't work correctly.
