Auto Courtier Marriages And Guardians

Description
Are you tired of manually marrying off your knights every time a new one joins your ranks? Are you likewise tired of manually assigning guardians to lowborn children in your court? Perhaps you've always dreamed of raising a long-forgotten dynasty back to power. Or perhaps you just want your court to feel a bit more lively... Whatever the case, this mod is designed to get you covered.

Features
  • This mod only affects characters who and whose close family members are not rulers. For example, children and grandchildren of players are not affected by the mod.

  • Employed courtiers (knights, councilors, diarchs, court position holders, etc.) can now get married by themselves. The same applies to courtiers of noble blood. Other characters such as freeloading lowborns can still become recipients of the offer, however.

  • Several factors such as age difference and mutual opinion are considered when choosing a partner.

  • The process is not instant, so it may take several years for any given character to find their desirable match.

  • In-court marriages are the most common, but even passing-by wanderers and commoners from a nearby village can get lucky if no other options are available.

  • In addition to the abovementioned mechanics, the children of non-rulers now tend to be educated by a close family member instead of being left to fend for themselves until adulthood. A new guardian will be chosen within a year if the current one becomes unavailable.

But wait, if the new courtier features affect everyone, wouldn't they become exponentially more taxing on performance in the long run? The answer is no! Vanilla CK3 is capable of culling excess population by default (diseases and plagues, limiting the lowborn couples to 1 child, and so on). In addition, the mod is optimized by making use of existing wandering characters. This significantly reduces the need for creating new ones, further lowering the performance impact.

This mod does not override vanilla files and should be compatible with all game versions past version 1.10. It can be added or removed at any time during ongoing playthroughs.

@Samuel L, looks like the mod you linked only triggers for children at the age of 6 or older, so mine should take priority.

@Samuel L, indeed it does. The performance impact is not as bad as it may seem though. My previous PC had lower-end components (1060 6gb GPU, i5-6500 CPU, 16gb RAM) and the slowdown hadn't really been noticeable except towards the endgame (10-15% slower at most)

I've released a few additional minor patches to account for various new game/dlc mechanics. Most notably, the courts (camps) of landless adventurers are no longer affected by the marriage-related features.

I decided to commemorate my return to CK3 by updating this mod. The core idea remains unchanged, but I introduced some minor QoL features (check out the changelog for details). Have fun!

Does this need an update?

this is kinda what I'm looking for but, I'd like the marriage to be queries from obscure characters. Like, sending their ruler for the permission to marry. I'll try it out anyway. Thank you for this
