Halo 4 D77-TC Pelican

Description
Halo Reach's iconic pelican design, now in Halo 4. Not just a simple port, this mod contains numerous new features and upgrades, making use of all the new vehicle features that H4 provides. From dynamic physics doors to proper interior lighting, this is the best pelican I could possibly make!

This is a demonstration of the mod - this is H4's Shutdown mission, but with the pelicans swapped out with my reach version. It also includes the Forge Islands multiplayer map, where you can use the pelican in Forge. If you wish to use this pelican in your own mods, the tags are on Nexus:

Features:
- Full ported Reach model and animations.
- 9 custom "gib" parts that give a convincing destruction effect when the vehicle is destroyed.
- Enhanced materials using H4's new material system and custom shader templates.
- The first modded vehicle to feature per-object scripting. What does this mean? It means that there are buttons on the vehicle to manually control the cargo door, and the pilot controls the landing gear with the melee button.
- High accuracy, fully custom physics model. Everything just feels right to interact with.
- The first modded vehicle to feature dynamic physics on the cargo door, landing gear, and engines/wings! The physics moves with the animation, so you can't fall through the door when it is closed like you do in previous engines!
- High quality vehicle lightmap. Provides nice dark interiors with good lighting.
- The first modded vehicle to feature the use of vehicle airprobes, which gives objects such as characters that are in the interior correct dynamic lighting!
- The Reach-style cannon, which fires in bursts.
- New cannon sounds to replace the horrible H4 one.
- All 12 seats fully usable by players and marine/spartan AI. That's 10 rear passenger seats, plus the co-pilot (first person!) and pilot seats.
- Completely re-worked engine effects for H4.

Feels pretty solid, like the usable landing gear and cargo door. I think for shutdown specifically you should look into making a missile pod variant like we saw in Halo 2 and Halo 3 that has the missile hog lock on and barrage as a secondary weapon. Phantoms have a bit of health so this would help for that mission and any mission like it. Would this also have a vehicle hitch to pick up vehicles? I've seen this done in CE maps and mods, but never beyond that.

The pelican redesign was by far the biggest design crime 343 did to Halo. The Bathtub Hind was the most hideous thing I have ever seen.
Thank you for this, I might actually reinstall Halo 4 just for this.

Once again Halo fans care way more than 343 employees. This mod was so satisfying it should be added into the base game. I know the Pelican section was a very short part of Halo 4 but this made it enjoyable :steamthumbsup:

the style might look out of place, but its light years better looking than that weird russian helicopter looking thing that is actually in the game.

now only need a marine ai spawn so we can transport the marines with us and help on the mission. Or make a custom mission where you have to be a pelican pilot and move troops, vehicles, etc. I would die happy to play a mission where the outcome of a battle is on how fast you can move troops/cargo.

God I would kill for a mod that replaces everything in Halo 4 with its better assets
