Crusader Kings: Total War

Description
Crusader Kings: Total War

Did you ever dream of Paradox Interactive's campaign with Creative Assembly's battles? Now you can have it!

This mod simply adds two decisions: Total War Victory and Total War Defeat.

Crusader Kings: Total War is more simple and lightweight than the amazing mod developed by Faray and Arcane's team (I would link it but Steam insists the link is malicious) - it is designed to be less powerful and specific, but more flexible and easy to set up. I've been using this a while and decided to publicize it in case anyone wants to use it, because I have largely moved to using Faray's Crusader Wars. However, you can use this for Fallen Eagle or any overhaul mod so long as there is a Total War game or mod set in that time period or universe.

This mod does not automatically transfer data between two games. It simply leaves it up to the player to set up battles in Total War and then manually apply the results to the game. I highly recommend using the mod responsibly; choosing to use the Total War battle influencer represents a complete commitment of the army to victory or death combat. If you win, the decision will likely wipe out the enemy army with few casualties. If you lose, it will likely wipe out your army with few hostile casualties. It is high-risk, high-reward, but only if you as the player have the integrity to choose the proper decisions even after you lose. As long as you do this, the gameplay will be balanced.

I recommend granting XP chevrons to all units in an army based on the difference in general skill.

I convert CK3 units to TW units - as a general rule - as such:

Levies = any "levy-tier" total war units, with a bias towards levy spearmen for most cultures, bow cav for steppe, etc.
Men-at-Arms of County-tier Realm = cheapest (excluding levy) version of unit class
Men-at-Arms of Duchy-tier Realm = second cheapest version of unit class
Men-at-Arms of Kingdom-tier Realm = professional version of unit class
Men-at-Arms of Empire-tier Realm = elite version of unit class
Houseguard: any top-tier unit of your choice

Knights: Give you army a unit of heavy cavalry for every five knights or so, and grant them XP chevrons based on their prowess.

Optional: Imperial levies are upgraded to the next tier of troops to represent increased professionalism
Optional: Tribal realms use troops from one tier higher to represent less stratified warrior cultures

Anyway, these are just my suggestions - this is a very sandbox mod, I hope people will do with this as they wish! It should be compatible with any mod, all it does is add two additional decisions.

This method was inspired by SpyCzech's EU4 mod:

Does this work with AGOT

yeah I definitely love the other mod haha but i was actually using this in conjunction with the AGOT mod. Although I think they're planning on release a AGOT Crusader Wars compatibility patch at some point.

This mod was made before the Crusader Wars mod, and now that it's easily available on Steam I recommend you use that one. I do see the bracket error and can fix it if anyone wants it, though.

this mod is available?

The "Total War Battle Decisions" file in the mod is missing a } on the end of both decisions. That is why only Total War Victory is displaying. Takes 2 seconds to fix if anyone else is running into this problem

can only see the victory button. btw i think it's pretty too much simple to add only defeat or victory, because TW interest is to show not only a victory but in fact a Pyhrus, decisive or moderate one

This would be really cool if you could input casualty numbers, is this possible to do/something you have any interest in doing?
