Welcome to my next Reach mod everyone. If you really liked Hemorrhage AI Mayhem, this map will also be something you’ll love. I have transformed Beachhead into a unique feeling environment- with my own AI deployments, equipment placement, and more. The map definitely feels new and fresh, despite us facing off against the Covenant here before in the vanilla Firefight map. This war will go on as long as the game lasts and is plenty chaotic. My custom code handles all the heavy lifting- so all you need to do is load in, sit back, relax and enjoy however you see fit! All of what I learned developing Hemorrhage AI Mayhem as well as my other projects has been carried into this map, and I strongly feel you guys will appreciate it!

Features:
  • A never ending AI war with all forces being able to respawn indefinitely.
  • Full support for CO-OP! Play with or against your friends seamlessly!
  • Pathfinding for AI everywhere.
  • Enhanced movement orders for all bots, to make sure fights happen as soon as possible, with heated competition for the central part of the level.
  • Plenty of care has been taken to make sure the bot engine is not overloaded, and the AI intelligence is maintained throughout your playtime.
  • Weapons placed throughout the arena ready for pickup. Respawn supported via custom scripts.
  • Vehicles placed for each team ready for use. Respawn supported via custom scripts.
  • AI reinforcements delivered via dropship deployment, for a realistic Halo feel.
  • A fresh feeling environment. The afternoon sun and clouds have been replaced with a dusk rainstorm, complete with visual rainfall and proper audio ambience for an immersive feel.
  • Covenant and UNSC controlled sides of the map, with corresponding equipment and scenery placed at each side.
  • Diverse sets of weapons, ranks, and types of AI for both sides, so every engagement is different each time!

How to Download and Play:

After subscribing to the mod on Steam and letting the download complete, launch Halo MCC with anti-cheat disabled. Navigate to Firefight, then Halo Reach Custom Firefight, and there should be an option to see Modded Missions. Choose “Beachhead AI Mayhem”, and then select a gametype. Do not choose any game modes that include “generator defense” options enabled, as the map does not support generator placement and is meant to be played with no objectives present. Feel free to customize anything in the gametype options. If you want to jump in right away without customizing anything, I recommend choosing the “Firefight Classic” gamemode. Choose your difficulty (Normal or Heroic is recommended, but all work fine) and load in. You are now all set! To play on the Human team, choose red. To join the Covenant, choose blue. If you want to play with your friends, make sure everyone has the mod installed, and launches with Anticheat off. Join your friend’s lobby and proceed as defined above.


Known Issues:
  • This is a more infantry centered battle with less vehicular action. They are still included, just in lesser quantities. I will evaluate in the future if more vehicles can and should be added.
  • If certain squads start seemingly no longer respawning, check the surrounding interior and elevated structures for stragglers. AI have a tendency to post up within these areas and await the enemy with a defensive mindset. Feel free to betray any AI that refuses to quit camping in these areas to cause a new squad to be generated.

Thanks! I’m glad it was able to provide some quality entertainment!

The Wraith could absolutely be added. I’d say the map is too small for the Scorpion.The AI likes ample room to drive the Scorpion around. This map might be a little too tight for them. I will look into both tho!

Beachhead AI fans - this map has just been updated to function with the MCC patch released on February 28th. The map is now playable again! Enjoy!

Thanks my man. I always appreciate the kind words! Players cannot customize the AI squads or the respawning delays. Basically I had to put in varying delays to prevent the game engine from being overwhelmed handling all the bots at once. Reach only likes so many alive at once before it starts to show signs of being too stressed (such as AI not behaving properly or game stability issues). When I eventually do an update to this map I'll see about reducing respawn delays and also adding in additional optional squads that can be enabled or disabled by the player.

This is by far the most Fun Halo mod i have ever played. I added it yesterday and been only on this mod with every mcc bootup.
I have to ask, is there any way to customize the covenant or unsc reinforcements? just the thought of fighting against (or with) a huge wave of elite zealots and generals with energy swords or explosives makes me curious.
I think the only disadvantage is not being able to setup waves like in vanilla firefight.
In my previous comment i said, that UNSC reinforcements arrive very late when they are all already killed, but this is also applies to the covenant reinforcements. It just depends on which side you are playing and how quickly you wipe the enemies off.
I noticed you reply to quite literally every comment which is really cool and i appreciate all the mods you have made

Epic mod. Is there a way to make UNSC and Spartan reinforcement to arrive more often or frequently?

@ironsidedann They will spawn. They will begin arriving about 30-60 secs after game start.
