People on the official discord #server-hosting have said that the bottleneck may be on the client's side, not on the server. and that 10v10 is very doable, 25v25 is probably playable at lower FPS if everyone has good computers, and 50v50 will break most people computers. On a fight night, there was also a successful 3k 8v8.
The official game establishes player caps to ensure a good performance in most computers; this mod lifts them to a very high value so people can experiment and see what happens if they believe their machines can handle it (or if they want to simulate bot games on the server only).
