Adjustable Shields

Description
What is this?
This mod adds new shields with colours and angles to the game.
The mod does not touch the vanilla shields.

These new shields are mostly for cosmetic diversity and should share the same stats as their vanilla game counterparts.

Features
These shields are of a neutral grey in-ship colour with coloured glows/highlights and feature an emitted shield colour to match the glows. The shields should die out to a grey/white colour, getting fainter as they go. These shields can now also be angled as well as coloured and work fully with overclocking.
There are several angle options per shield and all shields support colour options. They have a 'clone of vanilla' option and then 8 more colours.
(The vanilla shields have a purple in-ship look but a deep-rich-blue emitted shield, that dies to a red colour.)

  • The Small shield is the most flexible design. It can have either an arc or flat design.
    In Arc mode it can be forward or 45deg left/right options.
    In Flat mode it has forward, 45deg & 30deg left/right options.
    It can be placed internally, projecting through the ship.
    Unlocked as a 0cost tech when you purchase the vanilla small shield.
    OC unlocked with the vanilla small shield OC.

  • The entire new Medium shield is a hybrid, forcing the power output of a small generator through a large emitter.
    It has only a forward and 45deg left/right Arc options.
    It can be placed internally, projecting through the ship.
    Has new blueprints for unlocking and overclocking.
    Will NOT merge, replace or conflict with My Standalone Medium Shield , they are counted as 'individual parts'.

  • The Large is not very flexible and can only have forward or 90deg left/right Arc options.
    It can be placed externally only. It does not project through the ship (see below!)
    I've also given the part two more door/heat port options compared to vanilla.
    Unlocked as a 0cost tech when you purchase the vanilla large shield.
    OC unlocked with the vanilla large shield OC.
    Safety Mode unlock (see below!) has it's own tech purchase.

Overclocking the shields has all the same functionality you would expect from the vanilla shields.
Small shields get both extended and reinforced options.
Medium shields get a hybrid extended shield. The overall coverage increases with two extra side extensions, however the side extensions can not be projected through ship interiors.
Large shields get a reinforced option. They ALSO get a whole new "Safety Switch", which allows you to toggle them projecting through ship interiors at the cost of huge heat generation.

Meltdown also brings new sounds, new balanced resource costs, new sprites/fixes, new toggle options, overclocking ... Build and Battle integration.
I've also integrated the colour toggle so the dependency on the old colour mod is no longer required.

It just consistently does not update correctly it seems. Only mod we've had that does so unfortunately. Just wanted to make you aware!

All players need the updated files for a multiplayer game.
Steam is awful at doing auto-updates.

Ayo big dog real talk every time this mod updates it breaks syncing issues with multiplayer games. Great mod and all, but unsure what's happening to cause just this mod to have sync issues. Much love

Ty for the answer - good to know about it before it happens - had only one encounter so far with a Heat Lance and it did'nt live long enough to cause a crash I guess. ;D

Oh and take your time, my comment was'nt meant to apply pressure via subtext or something (not a native english speaker), I just wanted to know if I got the right message from your somewhat unclear former comment. ;)

pretty much that exactly... it will likely crash when 'scorched' (too much heat), but it should be able to take fire damage...

I'm working on updates.. I have a lot of mods to do..
this one is super complex with all the new overclock options and shield expansion etc
it's taking me some time to get it all working

Does it crash if it absorbs or is hit by heat weaponry?
