Era of Commerce

Era of Commerce is an alternative history mod which aims to showcase the fall of old Kingdoms and the emergence of modern republics and dictatorships. I will make not claim any of this mods content is in any way believable, i just wanted to create an interesting and hopefully enjoyable gameplay experience.


Features new and redone countries, with appropriate cultures, industrialization and governments in Europe, northern Asia, India and the Americas. Many of the planned changes are not yet fully implemented, however the mod is in a theoretically playable state and i will continue working on it for the forseeable future.

For the sake of convenience, for my sanity and to allow potential players to use the mod for an extended time, updates will come one week after the previous one at minimum. Usually this will be on a Friday.
INCREDIBLY early in development.


It is 1836. It has been but a few years after the embarrassing blunder in alsace, and the dust in Angleland has yet to settle. Even after the treaties were signed and it seems as though Europe can finally breathe a sigh of relief after the devastation the Angleland and Francian forces have wrought upon most minor powers.

The Hanseatic Republic, which profited off the war and subsequent losses by Angleland by being the continents most prolific supplier of goods and arms, has now even managed to secure not insignificant territorial and influence gains, bringing it ever closer to economic hegemony.

Francia has suffered more in the constant warring of its overlord than perhaps even its victims. Now however, it must also cope with the economic losses and disappointment of the populace at the recent defeat and it is becoming ever clearer that after the death of the king of Angleland an even more ambitious state may spring forth.

Lombardy and The Neapolitan Senate, currently two sicilies have drifted apart quickly after their short lived cooperation in driving out both Angleland and its Venetian ally, and now they are eyeing up the republics of Italy and each others recent gains, though perhaps there are other routes of expansion?
