Description
Load Addons While In-Map!

After downloading this addon, make sure you restart Garry's Mod first to make sure it has fully installed!

This addon is disabled for dedicated servers. It is difficult to make it work for dedicated servers and could be a security hazard; it is not worth it.

For large addons, it might freeze the game a bit. This is because they are most likely very complex, and loading all of it takes longer. Patience is key!

Tired of reloading everytime you download a new addon? Well this addon solves that! Midgame Workshop Hotloader auto-loads addons that were recently downloaded from the Workshop. Simply find an addon of choice, subscribe to it, and when it's finished downloading the addon will mount and load its files, comfortably in the map without forcing you to reload.

In the Workshop tab in your Spawnmenu you can view the addons you have hotloaded, or you can load unmounted addons by clicking on an addon in the Unmounted Addons tab. You can Multi-Select addons to hotload by right clicking and selecting "Enable Multi-Select", clicking on the desired addons. Then right click again, and select Hotload Selected.

You can also check the What's Hot category to see the current top addons on the Workshop.

Not all addons can be hotloaded.

Console Commands:
· wshl_give_all_hints
(Gives every Midgame Workshop Hotloader hint)

· wshl_hotload <wsid>
(Manually hotload an addon. Put the workshop ID of the addon as the first argument.)

Console Variables:
· wshl_hotload_requirements <1/0>
(Toggle if addon requirements should automatically hotload)

· wshl_receive_hints <1/0>
(Toggle if Midgame Workshop Hotloader should give hints)

· wshl_receive_logs <0/1>
(Toggle if bundle logs should print to console)

Limitations
  • Addons that replace materials, models or particles don't replace when hotloaded, however you can do "r_flushlod" in console to load these replacements although it is unreliable and could be buggy.

Known Bugs
  • Sometimes the files that are mounted from a hotload seem to be non-existent, fail to initialize, and error. Trying to find a fix or the reason as to why this is so.

@Capt_Ocean1 I am currently working on a rewrite, and I do not plan on adding dedicated server support, as the main function I use to download GMAs, steamworks.DownloadUGC , is not available on the server realm. The net library also has a small limit of 64kb, so it would be a slow process for any addon above like 2mb, for example, if I were to use that.
