In this next generation of Funny Mods, "Double Date in The Strange Apocalypse" follows both groups of survivors, in which Coach, the only human, dates a chicken Rochelle, and Zoey leaves her friends to be with Ellis and do... things with him every so often. Unfortunately for them, things suddenly start to fall apart. At least the special infected seem to be having more fun trying to take them down.

Here's a story summary like the previous generation has:
We start with the Left 4 Dead 1 survivors in No Mercy, aka The Great Hospital Crash,which is called that because as they're ascending the elevator in the hospital, the building suddenly explodes, and they almost fall to their death. Somehow, they survive, and they make their way to the bridge in The Passing. Here they meet the Left 4 Dead 2 survivors. Ellis and Zoey immediately fall in love, and before they leave, Zoey decides she wants to leave her friends to be with them. Before she climbs off the balcony, Louis gives Zoey a little scrunkly version of himself to remember him by. Zoey then falls, and Ellis catches her. They can't take their eyes off each other as the now group of five drive to Dark Carnival Remix. They go there because Coach thought it would be a good idea to try going on a double date (there's the title!) Him and Rochelle, and Ellis and Zoey. This is where Nick discovers his power to throw endless molotovs, and his love of the word "crumbs". It's also the first place where Ellis and Zoey have some intimate time in a saferoom, just standing there focused on each other while everyone else watches.
Now where things fall apart. They get to The Parish, the final hurdle for all groups of survivors to overcome before they get their final rescue and guaranteed safety, something the previous generation couldn't even reach. Sometime after the fighter jets start bombing the quarter, Rochelle gets caught in a direct hit by a bomb, destroying her body and terrifying everyone. Nick tries to remedy the situation by transferring her soul to a robotic body that looks like her, but it's too late. Coach is already heartbroken, and Ellis and Zoey are scared to lose each other to another explosion. When they get to the bridge, they've already left Rochelle behind. Nick and Coach get caught by special infected, Zoey slips and falls off the bridge, and Ellis jumps in after her. But something unexpected happens as Ellis is falling. The water below freezes over rapidly, leaving the younger couple no chance of survival.
This ends their journey. Hell has frozen over, and now it's up to a new generation to reach the end...
