Historical Battles

Description
Game version 1.5 FDL Update

About

Historically medieval warfare were fought majority on skirmishes or small scale warfare with one lord against another, massive battles were only fought with kingdoms and it's vassals against another. which is rare during the period.

*Not Ironman Compatible*

What it does

-Re-scales all men at arms numbers from 100 to 50.
-Battles will no longer take a month to end well except if you're an empire against another
-Levies replenishment rate have been tuned down and it will take months or years to restore them to full strength
(depends how big your levies are) Waging war against a faction who's currently or just ended a war would cause a massive blow now.
-Every Faction can raid now

Roadmap/Plans
- Still figuring out how to reduce levies sizes wether if i should reduce them or not
- Testing if it makes the game balanced by reducing their stats by 50%

Can you allow to raid only if a formar war declaration has been sent, unless you are tribal?

does this still work ?

Unfortunately it's one of my goal to achieve historical battles that includes everyone able to raid which were actually done before without direct war. on the other side I will see if i can port that feature to this mod.

The raiding for every faction I don't really like tbh. :(

Would be cool to add a manpower based on population. I think Sinews of war has some sort of thing like that, but I don't like Sinews cause you can't play it with other mods that affect building. Would be cool to only have the manpower/population feature together with this lowered replenishment rate for levies.

@Coach
Thank you for your feedback! you speak my mind with how i wanted this mod to turn out.
Also you're right with the war exhaustion and with the other titles, they'll probably release that feature on a dlc lmao

@Andy
Thanks man well it is indeed the goal of the mod. we often take our armies for granted.
I find it unnecessary to tune down replenishment rate for the mma since they're quite costy and well ineffective if i tune them down since their numbers are already small. would lead to unbalances but i'm still looking at my gameplay

very interesting mod. I always wanted to have a sort of war exhaustion feature in the game. Found it a bit annoying how you can wipe out all the levies/MMA of another faction and in just a few months they have already replenished their ranks.. Would be great if war weariness increases when you lose battles and it would affect your population, region, tax, soldier morale negatively. I think this already exists for all the other major Paradox games, just not for CK.

Well if you think historical, levies were everyday people that would go to war when their lord called them. They had daily jobs that they would do when they weren't fighting. Where as a MMA would be people that are just soldiers all the time. Fighting for their Lord as a job. So i understand the reduced replenishment for levies. Maybe a slight reduced replenishment for MMA.

This is just historical view. But i love them mod so far. It makes the impact of losing far more worrysome.

Just the levies, for now. still considering applying them to mma
