Mission Farmers' Republic

Description
The story

The South African Republic, also known as the Transvaal Republic, was founded by descendants of Dutch colonists after gaining independence from England. The republic is largely surrounded by British territory and an invasion is looming. A connection to the ocean is needed to trade goods and weapons, but all ports are in British hands. All but one: the port of Lourenço Marques in Portuguese East Africa.
A commission has been established to create a plan for the construction of a railway from the capital Pretoria to the port town of Lourenço Marques in Portuguese East Africa. As a young, ambitious transport engineer, you would love to lead that commission. Prove to the government that you are the right person for the job!

The mission
This completely new mission is part of the Inventors & Adventurers campaign.

Typical features:
  • New supply chains and industries, like gold, diamonds, prospectors, soldiers, jewelry, clothes, cigars, and so on.
  • Elephants, zebras and giraffes
  • Various AI lines with which you’ll have to cooperate and compete.
  • Typical music during the game (Creative Commons Attribution license). Also, the national anthem of the South African Republic is played at the start of the game.

About the map:
  • Huge 1:2 map. Large part of the map is just ocean though, hence performance should be ok.
  • Hand-painted map of the former South African Republic as well as parts of the Orange Free State and the Natal province (now South Africa), Swaziland (now Eswatini) and Portuguese East Africa (now Mozambique).
  • Large cities like Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Lourenço Marques (now Maputo), and several small villages.
  • Lots of mines, farms and other industries

The author
I like to make Transport Fever maps that tell a story. I do research, make scripts and build new models specifically for a map. By combining all this, I try to give the map a certain typical feel. I am therefore not interested in releasing parts of these mods separately: I feel that the parts are stronger together.

It took me months to build this campaign and it wasn't free; I paid to add certain objects to the game. If you like this campaign and want to see more mods like this in the future, please consider supporting me via [www.paypal.com]. Thanks a lot!

Note: The campaign aims to portray key milestones in the history of transportation as vividly as possible in their historical context. They also deal with dark chapters in the world's events, whereby the corresponding episodes are never supposed to be downplayed, and the victims within them never ridiculed. After all, it shouldn't be left by the wayside that the history of transportation was often and still is a story of conflicts, oppression, and sometimes great suffering. Accordingly, the value judgements conveyed in the individual missions do not reflect the developer's own values.

Another engaging mission, the Bonus Tasks escaped me this time, I did accomplish them just not in the required time. The overall tasks took a long while (game year 1950 I think). Getting a flow of goods to Jo'Burg that could be maintained was a challenge. I can't imagine what it takes to design these campaigns, considering what it takes to solve them!

Replaying your whole campaign after a while, I am stuck with the last(?) task in South Africa. I don’t get enough good to Jo’burg. B.E., while I have three trains between there and Tzaneen with a capacity of 20 pcs. of jewellery each, I don’ get the supply numbers in the city up. Same with other goods. Bit frustrating right now …

This was very tough, making use of others' lines (which you wouldn't know where they're going), as well as bringing the required goods to Jo'burg of a certain amount. I played the default campaign only, and returning back to TF2 recently, this mission (and this custom campaign in general) really made me think. Very nice

Yep, that solved the problem. I guess the station has to be in range of that government buidling

To connect a station in Pretoria to a station in Durban I believe. Maybe your stations are located too far away from the city?

What are the requirements for the mission UNIFICATION?
I did connect all raillines, people are travelling the route Durban - Pretoria and I am profitable but I cannot complete the mission for some reason for days now

Johannesburg starts receiving prospectors from year of 1885

@harrisonCLS Prospectors are transported in passenger compartments along cargo lines. So passenger stops won't collect the prospectors, you will need a vehicle that would hold passengers but attach it to cargo stops instead of passenger stops. Same with the soldiers and the extradites.

Can someone tell me how to satisfy the demand of prospectors?

Yeah, I can confirm errors on startup with this mod installed.
