Wetterlân

This is Wetterlân (Frisian for "waterland"), a fictional municipality inspired by the three northern provinces of the Netherlands, Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe. It is almost entirely flat and only barely above sea level.

Contains:
Loads of meadows.
Dikes!
Zero mountains.
Cool looking intersections that I tried to copy from google maps.

Dependencies:
This map SHOULD only require the mass transit DLC. However I highly recommend Khanador's amazing Not So Rocky European map theme because it really makes the meadows stand out. (I made the screenshots with this map theme.)

Geography:
The river delta ends in vast mudflats. The sea and wind play with the beaches and let the islands wander slowly downstream through erosion and sedimentation. A few large rocks and the tiny pingo ruins in the forests are the last reminders of the ice age. Permanent human settlement started when farmers made terps, small mounds on which they build their houses and kept their livestock in case of flooding. Your city starts as a small town on the coast. Over the centuries land reclamation projects move the coast further and further away. New land is secured with dikes which become natural roads and eventually highways.
