Better designate heir
Hello and welcome.
Got angry after finally reaching sweat absolute crown authority for heir designation, and then felt little let up when you lern that you can pick only your children but not siblings or grandchildren?
Then I have something for you:

What it does?
It allows you to designate heir amongst your siblings and grand children. There are some small catches though:
  • YOU NEED TO YOU CHARACTER INTERACTION, NOT IN LAW TAB
  • picking siblings costs double in prestige
  • picking grandchildren cost triple in prestige

Have you any plans for future?
I'll try to make it work in laws tab.

What about compatibility?
It's incompatible with anything changing "designate heir" character interaction. Rest should cause no problems

would be great if you would make this into a seperate code on it's own which aint that hard to do, would also be great to extend it to extended family think uncles, aunts, niece and nephew etc.

I tried to use this mod, it gives me the interaction (and spends my prestige) to make my grandchild my heir but doesn't actually change my heir :(

I'd love to be able to extend this to nieces and nephews. Anyone have an idea how to go about it?

if only this, or any mod in existence, would also allow you to designate the house/dynasty head heir. Any time I end up picking designated heir I actually like, the crappy new dynasty head that i avoided likes to denounce me

@(shiny) DiamondNova I tried using a mod called "Designate Heir" by grandembassy. It seems to work fine - I tested it at lowest crown authority in 867 and was able to nominate grandchildren. Great work!

@nielssmed I just confirmed this (fantastic) mod is working. Make sure you've got full crown authority. That was my mistake.

@(shiny) DiamondNova I take it this mod will not work with mods that make heir designation available at all crown authorities?
