Godherja: The Dying World is a total fantasy conversion mod that is set in an original dark fantasy world poised on the edge of the end times. After killing their Creator in a time long-forgotten, humanity has once again shaken the fabrics of reality through the use of world-shattering magics. Now, an endless Fog spews forth across the land swallowing all. Strange monsters and men turned wild now roam these lands, and the peoples who once called it home flee for the Shattered Coast. The world is dying. As the tribes migrate to the last safe lands and ancient empires crumble, reality itself hangs in the balance. Will you save the world, or end it?

Godherja has way too many features to list out, but some of the coolest and some of our favorites are:

* An original theme song composed and played by the amazing Paul Anthony Romero of Heroes and Might and Magic fame
* A full magic system letting you cast dozens of spells, with even more spells outside of the normal trees found through a variety of means
* Migration mechanics letting you join the Imperrech and carve out a realm with your reward based on both participation in war and personal prowess
* Dynamic Civil War mechanics for Chevalie—if your heir is not badass enough to earn their respect, your vassals will put them to the test!
* A huge hand-made map that constantly grows with more content and detail
The Fog, with a Game Rule allowing you to let it spread at whatever rate suits you best—battle to survive, and escape to safety!
* New terrain both graphically on the map as well as in gameplay, from blasted red deserts to magical wastelands and underground labyrinths to battle in
* Elect judges and decide the path of your faith as the Wardenites with an entirely unique series of religion mechanics
* Balance the power of the Lodges in Damota, with a system inspired by the Estates of EU4
* Embrace the Rites and fight a dynamic and changing war of faith and glory as the Sjalvolki after conquering Aversaria, now with Struggle mechanics!
* Meet the unique and interesting beasts of Aeras and hunt them to extermination for pride and profit with an entirely custom Hunting system allowing you to track down and battle hundreds of unique monsters
* Colonize wastelands or lands never seen by man with our Colonization system
* Manage various political factions in our Clique system, a unique form of succession that comes with our playable Holy Order, Theocracy, Mercenary, Military Unit, and Magocracy governments
* Play as a swashbuckling rogue or dreadful pillager across the high seas of Aeras with the custom Pirate Government, letting you raid, plunder, and strive to become the Pirate King of the Sea
* Dozens of beautiful and unique models and art pieces made for Godherja and contributed from other mods

Q: Is Godherja Royal Court Compatible?
A: Yes! Godherja is Royal Court compatible and makes multiple additions upon the systems offered in it

Q: Is Godherja Fate of Iberia Compatible?
A: Yes! Godherja is fully compatible and incorporates many new features like Struggles. For the Iberia patch, we also reduced our error count from 30,000+ to under 100, so the mod's never run better!

Q: Is Godherja Compatible with ‘X’ Mod?
A: Godherja is a Total Conversion mod and touches far too many files to be compatible with most mods. If a mod fits in well with Godherja we pursue integration directly into the mod.

Q: Do I need any DLC to run Godherja?
A: Godherja should function fine without any DLC, please report it as a bug if it does not.

Q: Can I play Godherja in Multiplayer?
A: There have been mixed reports if it is possible or not, we have recently begun prioritizing getting it working for sure, and will appreciate any reports on how it goes if you try it.

Lore Questions:

Q: Where can I found out more about the world?
A: You can find our Lore Primer here![docs.google.com]

Q: Are there other planets or aliens?:
A: As alluded to in the lore document, it's unclear if the sky and space are real or if they were simply created by Aersanon to make the world prettier.

Q: What real world time period is 1254 equivalent to?
A: 1254 IS is technologically in the early 11th century and culturally and historically in the Migration Era.

General Questions:

Q: Will you be making other bookmarks?:
A: We have bookmarks planned from 1299 IS (45 years after the current start date) all the way to 1 IS (1253 prior), with another possibly even planned for before then. In a hypothetical 'complete' Godherja, there will be around two dozen start dates with multiple bookmarks for each. We plan to eventually release a roadmap of all planned bookmarks after we release the first new one (1299).

Good question, the crazy new holding districts might make it take longer, or if it releases before that, it'll be incompatible with the then latest version.

No drama, just people over reacting to the lack of updates.

i havent checked in on this mod since like, may last year, whats the drama?

I was ready to complain but it does look like a massive overreaction, if the free update actually comes along I see no reason to be mad at the devs, this is their own original world and the beta is a completely optional thing to pay for. I really can't wait to see what is coming, I only played a little of the mod a few months back hoping an update was coming soon, but if its still a bit away I may play some more soon.

@Raith Bro you wouldn't even know the patreon test build existed if it weren't for other players talking about it, because the devs don't actively advertise it.

Also, Paradox, a company valuated at 1.3 billion USD and with hundreds of employees often takes between 3-8 months for ANY update to the game. So how then is it impossible to believe that a small team of modders operating on peanuts from a Patreon. Just needed time for the large update to their already massive, largely unpaid, overhaul mod... WITHOUT some kind of nefarious scheme involved?

How about you hop onto their discord channel and TALK to them, before you assume they're how you think they are.

No ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, they arent putting a paywall on the mod, stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and making up ♥♥♥♥ and just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wait

@TiraboTurbos I mean... it's been a year since the last update and they've been shilling a paid "beta" for more than a few months now so... My guess here, having done modding several years ago, is that they're slow rolling things to make more money by people coming in for the "beta".
