Description
Hello Aviators!

This Holiday Season let me take you back to 1929 - the interwar era of glamour and style when aviation was only in its infancy!

Let me present Art Deco Airport - a creative interpretation of what airports could look like if they build them pompous like New York City skyscrapers ;)

There are two NEW ORIGINAL terminals that I created and decorated with detail on the outside and finally on the inside!

Take a stroll and follow the Zombies (personal camera and X,Z keys) on their voyage through the glowing entrance of Grand Air Terminal, passing the Flights Board then walking along various kiosks on their way to the gate! There is a Bistro-Caffe and few areas to sit down in the main hall, marvel at the artwork of the era and let the light sipping through the front façade bring this Cathedral of Travel to life!

Don't forget to discover a half size model of Junkers F 13 and enjoy the peaceful greenery splashed all over the terminal - all of it under one majestic arch!

The smaller Terminal has also a few unique features - on the outside you can find vintage Airline Posters from the era as well as some stone benches and a small square where passengers get offloaded from their cars upon arriving at the airport. Inside you'll find two enormous wall paintings of the first Wright Brothers' flight and another of commemorating Louis Bleriot's first flight across the English Channel!

Both terminals are of course seamlessly connected and Zombies are freely moving from one to another if they are connecting to other flights. There is a reused hangar from Transport Fever 1 that has been animated and repainted! There are also few terraces for airport visitors from where they can observe takeoffs and landings of those incredible flying machines!

There are 3 different Art Deco Airport layouts:

- Grass Runway with dirt taxiway and space for 6 airport modules,

- S-type 2 Concrete Parallel Runways layout with space for 6 modules, white runway markings and right landing direction,

- L-type 2 Concrete Runways layout with space for 7 modules and white runway markings,

BONUS : City Hall Office Tower - 19-storey building you will find it in the asset section with colorful ART DECO icon!

You can also use those airport layouts later in game by adding COMPATIBLE Vanilla or City Airport terminals to them! And it will be useful to have those 2 runways as passenger number grow before 1950!

Special thanks especially to DH-106 from www.transportfever.net (where you should definitely look for his incredible aircraft models from that time period and beyond!) also to Yoshi and VacuumTube for their help and support with this unique project!

I wish you a lot of fun exploring this airport! If you have questions, problems, suggestions or simply want to appreciate - your comments or pm's are welcome! Please leave a 👍 to show your support as a little thank you for the work and heart I have poured into this airport.

Enjoy your Holiday Season, stay safe... and as always... happy flying!

@Remi Gio

Many thanks, enjoying your stuff a lot. Using TF2 as a digital model train display with time frozen at 1978.

Goes well with your mods :) !

Cool ;) I haven't modded in a long time as you can see I have saturated the airport section a bit already.. but when I do create something new I'll definitely think of adding some more taxiways. From the technical standpoint the game seems to works best with simple layouts of runways and taxiways though. Have a good one! ;)

Hi Remi, you are correct. I rebuilt half a city right now to slot in the twin runway AD Airport and it works fine now! I may indeed have had a City Airport using the AD Terminals - I thought if they pop up in there they should do fine. My mistake :).

As for the twin runway AD airport: Any chance for a few more Taxiways? The Z-Track only for planes looks a tad "simple" (I am a pilot in another, well real, life :) )

Many thnaks for the advice and the fabulous mods.

Hey - I just checked and none of the aircraft are poking into the building in Art Deco airport... maybe you constructed those terminals on a City Airport? ;)

@Remi: 1955 DC-4 and Super Conny are also "poking" into the building.

I just love the detail of the Arrival halls and all! I grew up using Bwerlin-Tempelhof before Berlin destroyed all their decent airports and replaced them with the current disaster in Königs Wusterhausen - Schönefeld, half way to Leipzig almost!

So, seeing the Destination "Berlin-Tempelhof" on the Departure Board is so nostalgic to me!

But I would really love my planes to stop in front of the building :steamhappy:!

Thank you. This mod is intended for the 1929-1959 era when the planes were smaller. You can still use it as a small regional airport where turboprops fly ;) for later game I recommend City Airport or Regional Airport!

would be nice if you would add a terminal that is further away from the runway. Large planes are clipping through the building. But besides that i love your mod.
