Description
UPDATE: The blueprint and the weapon have both been given their proper name, Ninjato. Not "ninja blade." You don't still call a Katana a "Samurai Sword," do you?

----

Did you read the description of this weapon and expect that they really would be "good for stabbing people in the back" somehow? Turns out in game mechanics it's just a weaker Wakizashi.

This mod aims to find a niche use for the neglected Ninjato.

There is no "backstab" mechanic in Kenshi, so instead, I have altered the stats to simulate a backstab-style opening attack that will let you get some good shots in if you attack first, but is weak on defense if you don't finish them off quickly. You're a Ninja not a duelist ;)

- Armor Pen: Penalty reduced to 10%

- Base damage nudged up slightly

- Bonus of +15% damage vs. humanoids

- Attack Mod of +10 and a Defense Mod of -8. My idea is that you are making a powerful opening strike, but do not want it to turn into a long fight.

- Indoor Modifier of +2 This means that indoors, the attack "alpha strike" bonus is +12, and your defensive penality is -6. The open battlefield is not where you use this blade; it's a stab in the dark ;)

Inspirador.
Me gusta mucho tu Mod!

I would suggets making it have an assassination skill boost but probably that is impossible :/

@Torkkar The FCS is very limited in some ways. You can't add or remove any functionality for the most part, and you can't really touch the UI except for the texture like Dark UI. You can add/change assets (textures, models, animations) and change existing values, but that's about it. The core gameplay can't really be changed at all.

kinda makes me worry about this games modding tool if something as simple as my suggestion is out. not saying its easy to do but easy to say what it is to do.

Because the modding tools don't allow for such a thing, last time I checked. But it's been a while, and I wasn't as familiar with the modding tool then.

so why not try to add an alt assassination sneak interaction that instantly kills if it hits but requires assassination & Katana skills to raise the success odds?

Sure, that works. Let me know the link and I'll point back as well, for those that prefer the more equivalent version.

Just an update to my earlier comment. It ended up being simpler than I expected, so I decided to make my own rebalance of the ninja blade and will be uploading it to the workshop momentarily.

Since it was heavily inspired and influenced by yours (I borrowed the name change for mine as well), I'd like to mention and link your mod in the description, but not without your permission. I started my mod file from scratch and will not be using your image or any other files from your mod to avoid stepping on any toes.

If you would rather I not mention or link your mod, just let me know or feel free to ignore me and delete my comments lol. As I said, I'll leave your mod out of it unless you tell me otherwise. Thank you for inspiring me through your own work to dip my feet into modding myself.

@Infinite enjoy! The last straw for me was, the first Meitou weapon I found was the Ninjato and I just looked at it like "well I wish i could use this for something"
