Stainless Steel Division

Description
SSD is a mod primarily meant for coop gameplay vs AI on higher difficulty levels (AG+Skirmish) and is not balanced for PvP in any way. Mod currently adds 7 new divisions for the Axis and enables indirect fire for units that realistically should have it (Mainly the artillery from Support tab). In regards to historical accuracy the mod aims to provide both real and some fictional but historically plausible formations with certain liberties taken in their ToE for the sake of gameplay.

Removed Permanent Bodies due to performance issues in large multiplayer games, Wrecks should still stay longer.

Updated to v.121850.

-New Game Mode

Tactical 20AP Battalion sized coop skirmish where multiple people combine their role-based battalions to work as one Division vs AI.

-11 Battalion sized Battlegroups with different specializations.

-2 new Battalions.

The units of many AG pawns have been changed. Consider setting "[Strategic] Original battalion's name" to "Yes" from the interface options to see the updated unit names that correspond better with their new contents.

Core Gameplay Changes:

- Enabled indirect fire to some support tab units.
- Infantry squads can be reinforced with supply trucks.



Army General Changes:

Added new difficulty levels for AG: Very hard and Hardest.

- Normal/Hard is recommended for solo play.
- Very Hard currently offers the best level of challenge when playing in coop with 2 players.
- Hardest is intended for 3-5 players in coop.

Increased overall AI deployment resources.

- AI gets more points compared to player by phase and per tick.
- The resource generation starts slow but ramps up towards Phase C.

Reduced BreakthroughMode Attacker/Defender Bleed modifier to give AI more time to initiate attacks.

- No more easy 10-min victories with aggressive defensive deployment by holding 90% of flags while defending.
- Defense in depth is now encouraged. The AI has more resources to deploy and is generally more dangerous.
- Attackers can't win by holding just 50% of the map, the offensive must be pushed in all the way to secure victory.

Playing AG in Coop with friends against AI should now be much more challenging and realistic.

- Expect a lot of drawn-out battles with potentially massive losses on both sides.
- Flag control has much less of an impact which allows more flexible use of terrain.
- There is ample time to mount counterattacks even if you have lost map control temporarily.

Army General Campaign Specific Changes:

Orsha (Recommended)

- Soviet total amount of infantry buffed from 34804 to 64219 soldiers.
- Soviet total amount of tanks & AT buffed from 622 to 2940 tanks and anti-tank guns.
- Majority of soviet units have a tank company with vehicles ranging from T34-76 to IS-2s.
- Soviet total amount of planes increased by over 100+.

Vistula (Recommended)

- Added numerous tank companies to roughly 35% of soviet infantry formations. Roughly 700 more tanks.
- Slightly modified some Axis TD battalions to include VERY limited amounts higher quality vehicles (No KTs).

Burning Baltics (Recommended)

- Soviet total amount of infantry buffed from 157351 to 178829 soldiers.
- Soviet total amount of tanks & AT buffed from 4106 to 6860 tanks and anti-tank guns.
- Every Soviet infantry brigade has a tank company with vehicles ranging from T34-76 to IS-2s.
- Completely remade Pzverband Strachwitz, parts of 52. Sicherungs Division and Korps Kleffel.
- Added missing supply trucks to Axis artillery units.
- Changed composition of air units. More bombers for Soviets, reduced amount of planes for Axis but higher quality.

Turda (Recommended)

- Massively strengthened Soviet 6th Tank Army. Doubled amount of Soviet Aircraft.
- Ukrainian 2nd Front Tanks & AT buffed from 741 to 1216.
- Ukrainian 2nd Front Infantry buffed from 20753 to 24093.
- Romanian Armata 4 Tanks & AT buffed from 654 to 738.
- Masodik Magyar Hadsereg Tanks & AT buffed from 589 to 606.

Berezina, Bobruisk, Baranovitchi, Karelia, Iasi, Tiraspol

- No changes as of yet

Currently Orsha, Burning Baltics, Vistula and Turda are the most challenging and recommended campaigns to play in the mod.



Skirmish Changes:

Gruppe Volker
  • S-Tier Division with versatile mix of units.
  • Excels at holding out against overwhelming odds.
  • Preußens Gloria
Ryhmä Nenonen
  • Finnish division with strong artillery and versatile infantry.
  • Excels at Forest and Asymmetric warfare.
  • Includes Sturmgeschütz-Brigade 303 and Gefechtsverband Kuhlmey.
Fallschirm-Panzergrenadier-Division 2 'HG'
  • Well equipped sister division of Fallschirm-Panzer-Division 'HG'.
  • Decent infantry with strong air support.
  • Relies mostly on off-map artillery and strong Tank Destroyer support rather than tanks.
Panzergrenadier Division Großdeutschland
  • Elite Ostfront Division with good infantry and tanks.
  • Relies mostly on mobile field artillery.
  • Good at urban warfare and street fighting.
4. Luftwaffen Feld Division
  • Half-strength Division with weak frontline units.
  • Excellent for rearguard duties and static defense.
  • Extremely strong air support by StG 2, JG 52 and KG 55.
Festung Breslau
  • Lots of low quality infantry with a small core of elite infantry.
  • Good defensive capabilities with strong AA/AT/Artillery support but low mobility.
  • No air support except Fi-156 scouts.
Division Brandenburg
  • Excels at ambushes and guerilla warfare, lots of raiders.
  • Uses mainly captured Soviet equipment
  • Total Brandenburger madness with focus on trickstery and antics. (Borgwards and Sturmtiger included)




Supply Changes:

- Increased amount of supply carried by supply trucks.
- Infantry can be reinforced from supply trucks.

2 New units:

- Finnish version of 100mm Sk18 Field Gun.
- Recon version of the Befehlspanzer III Ausf. K
