Another option would be to add a few tiles to world generation that have chunks of the broken ship. Such as a thruster section lodged in the tall scrap building or on the ocean floor, chunks of the main hull in the desert and grasslands, the cockpit/front end section stuck in various scrap buildings and in crash craters, or larger chunks in the burnt forest as if they are what caused the fire that charred area. Just a thought.
and I fixed installation instructions.
It has changed since this mod was last updated so this is step 2's current file path steamapps\common\Scrap Mechanic\Survival\Objects\Database\ShapeSets under which you will find the "effect_proxies.json" file, which isn't actually needed (just a reference point) you just need to be in the ShapeSets folder.
Step 3 is referring to the mod file path and is as follows:
steamapps\workshop\content\387990\2217565972\Objects\Database\ShapeSets. In the mod ShapeSets folder you will find the "parts.json" file. You will then copy it into the game ShapeSets folder and that should be it.
Hope this helps you and any one else who has issues installing this mod.
