Realistic Train Brake

Description
With the June update (Min. Build 28962), there is a new parameter, which can modify the brake deceleration of trains.
You can adjust this with the (also new) mod settings in the loading menu.

The default value of the game is 2.5 m/s², which sometimes seems very hectic.
A realistic value, also default of this mod, is 1 m/s².

not directly possible. Use invisible weights.

Здравствуйте. А как сделать плавный разгон поезда?
Hello. And how to make a smooth acceleration of the train?

I've discovered that it's actually the built-in "Legacy vehicle" mod that causes this extra vehicle to appear. I thought it was caused by Realistic Train Brake, but now I see that this is only because enabling RTB causes Legacy vehicle to get enabled as well. Sorry for the wrong report and thank you for your time!

This bug existed every since and has nothing to do with this mod. It happens even with no mods.

I've found that this mod causes the "Asian Horse-Drawn Carriage with Side Stakes" road vehicle to become unlocked in 1875 with all three of the vehicle sets (America, Asia, Europe) instead of just the Asia set.
I've tested and verified this in a new save with American vehicles without any other mods enabled. And I've observed this with the Europe set in past saves.
I'd appreciate if you could fix this. And thanks very much for this mod, I love it!

Use "Additional Weight" mod to achieve realistic acceleration

The train physics is relatively accurate (despite gradients). What is unrealistic is that the driver immediately goes full power and that the resulting acceleration is not limited. This happens esp. for light weight trains with high power (single loco or powered cars). Even if the traction force would allow this high acceleration, in reality it could cause slipping.

I'm a bit confused by the commenter who wanted realistic train acceleration. If I build up a train with a realistic weight and horsepower, it seems to accelerate about like they do in reality. That said, a realistic North American train is about as long as the average distance between towns in this game, so I'm inclined to think the real problem is tiny overpowered trains.

Oh, that's sad :(

The only way for realistic acceleration is a hard limit for the resulting acceleration (e.g. 1-1,5 m/s²). I told this UG long before. The vehicle dynamics can't be modded.
