Scandinavian Ideas and Events

Description
Are you, like me, dissapointed that forming Scandinavia doesn't give you new ideas? Well, look no further.

This mod will give you the option to get new ideas when forming Scandinavia, unless you are playing a custom nation of course. The ideas are a mix of the original Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish ideas, with some improvements to reward you for forming Scandinavia.

This mod also changes the administrative tech requirement for forming Scandinavia from admin tech 20 to admin tech 10, in order to match the requirements of most other formable nations.

I have also added events. Scandinavia now gets the events of Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. This may lead some events who are supposed to fire once, will fire twice. For example, if you form Scandinavia as Sweden, you might get the event first as Sweden, then as Scandinavia.

Right now, this mod might no be compatible with other mods that edits any national ideas, but should be compatible with anthing else.
This mod is not ironman compatible.

No DLC's required

I will try to fix any bugs and issues i get reports of, but i probably wont develop this mod any further. I will instead contribute to jvpts11's mod, called Expanded Iceland. If you like to play in Scandinavia, be sure to check it out!

Hey, I added you on steam. I have a question about your mod.

Mod now updated. The ideas are nerfed, but Scandinavia is still strong! Also added events.

Reverting to the norse faith would be kinda goofy and unrealistic. But maybe you could make a nordic church similarly to the anglican faith for england in the game. Could use the norse religion as a base since it's not used anywhere else anyway.

for missions it would be cool to have ones for colonizing Vinland and missions for dominating the baltic and Lübeck trade.

@SirEngeskaug You could always just give a joint bonus of artillery damage from back-row and either artillery combat bonus or just fire damage in general.

@SirEngeskaug - No problem. I got interested in it after reading the 1634 series by David Drake and Eric Flint, and when you go to look at what the actual history was, then Gustavus Adolphus comes in as one of the top 5 military leaders and innovators in history. Got Sweden out of the Personal Union, went Protestant and then backed that up with innovation which older formations and less innovative military leaders couldn't figure out how to counter. He is right up there with Belisarius and only the adventurous spirit of Adolphus and actually being in the field cut him down just as the 30 Years War was in a stage that could have swung in many directions. Still all he did helped to get to Westphalia, which probably wouldn't have happened without him.

@ajacksonian I did not know that, I have not read very much about the history of Gustavus Adolphus. I agree that combined bonuses are reasonable then, but i dont know if its possible to have it only in armies with all three unit types in the.

I guess the easy solution would be to change it to something like 5% infantry, cavalry and artillery combat ability. Or maybe some movement speed to artillery.

What Gustavus Adolphus did was the first regularized combined arms that allowed for smaller and mobile field artillery to support the infantry units, and it was devastating to other armies that couldn't make nor field such mobile artillery. No longer was artillery just big guns that sat in place during a battle, and woe unto infantry and cavalry that found themselves facing these on the flanks to support units at close range. That should be a +10% to infantry and cavalry in armies that ALSO have those smaller cannons to reflect combined arms.
