You can only snap once per playthrough

So I had to snap a fallen empire as they were over powering and just went to war with me as I got the last stone. My question is now that I've snapped how can I snap again? My leader has a lifespan of forever so I dont see him loosing the stones.

Just seeing that there's actually an update in the works makes my day. Tried a few games without this mod and it felt a bit empty. Take your time, we'll still be here whenever, and thanks for the hard work :D
